Hotel Tierra Maya, located on the Costa Maya in Xcalak Mexico, is a
small, privately-owned and operated hotel & resort located 2 km
North of the fishing village of Xcalak only 54 km South of the
seaport, Majahual. The second largest coral reef in the world, the
MezoAmerican Reef System, lures vacationers to its rich sea life and
its beauty and it’s all just beyond our pier. The warm Caribbean
waters of the Costa Maya, the reefs, the abundant coral heads and
nearby Chinchorro Banks attract divers, snorkelers and sightseers.
The world-renown Chetumal flats attract fly fishing for bone fish,
permit, and tarpon and the breathtaking coastline views feature a
land of ancient forests, where shades of green are backed
brilliantly by the azure sky and the Caribbean Sea. Nestled among
tropical trees and exotic greenery, Hotel Tierra Maya in Xcalak,

Hotel Tierra Maya offers vacationers a variety of on-site amenities.
Our Mayan Grill Restaurant is open beginning at 6:30 AM for early risers.
Breakfast is available until 2pm for those guests and visitors who
like to sleep and eat late. Lunch is served daily from 11AM and dinner
is served beginning at 4 PM. Our kitchen closes at 9PM.
The Mayan Grill offers the freshest and most expertly prepared and
presented fares from the Caribbean Sea and from local farmers.
Homegrown vegetables and fruits, fresh fish, shrimp and lobster,
delivered
daily, as well as home baked breads and desserts are sure to satisfy
your palette and keep you wanting to return to try another entree.
We have a varied menu and are fortunate to have one of the finest
chefs in our employ, Carlos Molina. Ocean kayaks, and bicycles are
offered for your use at no additional charge. Snorkel gear is for
sale at a reasonable price in our office/gift shop. Bringing your
own snorkel gear is best. Additionally, we do not charge extra for
astronomical star-gazing, awesome sunrises or sunsets, and
forgetting what time of the day or week it is. Tierra Maya has its
own way of reminding you what's really important.

Diving, snorkeling, fly fishing and sightseeing trips may be
arranged by our Tierra Maya Hotel staff either prior to your stay or
when you arrive. Tierra Maya uses the most sought-after and
experienced fishing, snorkeling and diving guides in Xcalak. Banco
Chinchorro, a world-class diving location, and La Posa, where you
will dive or snorkel with the giant Tarpon, are favorite diving and
snorkeling sites in the area. All-day San Pedro, Ambergris Caye,
Belize boat trips are most popular with our visiting guests.

Closeby Mayan Ruins of Chacchoben and Kohunlich are perfect
daytrips for the seeker of a Mayan adverture. In addition, the
Mayan Museum and Cultural Museum of Chetumal are within a two-hour
drive from Tierra Maya. The famed Cenote Azul is a favorite
swimming and snorkeling site which is in nearby Bacalar.

Rates include a continental breakfast of fruit plate, pan dulce, and
coffee, use of ocean kayaks and bicycles. Snorkel gear is for sale
in our office/gift shop at a reasonable price. Better to bring your
own snorkel gear. A 12% hotel tax not included in rates.

Because we are a full-service property, with a full-time 11-person
staff, we offer shorter or longer stays as a way of accommodating
your long term or short term vacation allowances. Email us for your
special vacation request.

Our reservation and cancellation policies are consistent with all
other small, privately-owned properties in the area. 1/2 non-
refundable deposit is required when you make your reservation with
Visa or Mastercard or Paypal through our PayPal server. You have 24
hours from the time you make your reservation to change or cancel
without penalty. No refunds on
early departure. Often we cannot make changes to your reservation
after your reservation is confirmed with a credit card. Deposits are
non-refundable. The balance of your reservation is due in CASH upon
arrival. Restaurant charges are only paid in cash, US dollars or pesos.
