Serenity is a 3rd floor condo - a 1 (king) bedroom plus loft bedroom with one full and one 3/4 bath (shower only) boasting a vaulted ceiling with spectacular two story views of the wildlife filled backwaters of Cedar Key, Florida. Watch the boats, birds, and fisherpersons go by as you relax in comfort on our private balcony. Serenity is perfect for a couple seeking a romantic, private escape or a couple with two children.

Our balcony overlooks a stunning vista of small mangrove islands, Wacassasa Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. You will enjoy fabulous sunrises, the sunset colors reflected in the water, the long-legged wading birds, and the play of light on the water. Sip a drink while watching the fishermen (and women) pulling in their catch from the private fishing dock. We particularly enjoy breakfast on the balcony while watching the birds on the tidal flats. At high tide, we are often visited by dolphins as they fish along the shoreline. (Yes, you are that close to the water...)

Our holiday home Serenity offers excellent access to town and community amenities. We park our car and walk most everywhere. We are less than one block to the town park/playground and beach. (The playground has great NEW! equipment!) It's two blocks to the city marina for boat launching. Most restaurants and shops are 3 blocks from our condo. If you'd like to breeze around town - rent a bike or a golf cart!

We've furnished Serenity with your comfort in mind - the master offers a brand new King bed with plush mattress (09/2009), the loft has a trundle bed with a pair of twins that can be joined to become a king. Our kitchen is set up for real cooking and dining - plenty of pots, pans, serveware (updates in Sept. 2009). The dining table seats four and there are two stools at the counter. We supply full luxurious linens and there's a full sized washer and dryer for your use.

Serenity has free DSL and WiFi - bring your laptop! (There is also a computer and printer with a small desk).The living room and bedrooms both have TVs with cable and DVDs. And of course there's music, books, movies, and games to help while away the occasional shower. (Don't miss watching a rainstorm move across the water!)

Cedar Key is a small community of about 900 year round residents located about 4 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. Connected by a series of small causeways, Cedar Key feels as if you have escaped the rest of the world. We're known for our wildlife, our fishing, and our birds. We are not known for our nightlife - most restaurants have a lounge with some live music, but if you're looking for a party - you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a Cedar Key vacation with birdwatching, fishing, lazing on a balcony, star-gazing, or just experiencing old Florida - Serenity in Cedar Key, Florida is your dream vacation.

Rates

$900/week (Four nights are normally required from Feb. 1 - May 1)

$130/weeknight in off-season
$160/night (2 night minimum out of season)
$3,000/month (Jan, Feb, August, Sept., December only)

Pet Fee: $10/pet/visit (if pet is approved by owner)

In-season months (February through mid-July) require a minimum of a 4 nights stay. Longer stays are possible, please inquire. Holiday and festival weekends require a minimum of 4 nights and will not be reserved more than 4 weeks in advance unless you reserve at least a week's stay.
