vacation rental description
The Kona Lighthouse. Great for Honeymooners, family reunions or
groups. Across the street from the Pacific Ocean with a direct view
of crashing waves, ocean and sunsets. One block from world famous
Magic Sands white sand beach and the fabulous Anthony's By The Sea
restaurant.
The 36 foot lap pool and lush tropical landscaping add to your
enjoyment. Up the koa wood spiral staircase within the "lighthouse"
is the spacious main floor with three bedrooms, great room and
expansive lanai. The fourth bedroom is a separate studio downstairs
with kitchenette and its own private lanai overlooking the pool.
Large two car garage with electric key entry for vehicular
security.
Sleeps six upstairs and two to four in the studio (great for the
kids).
The nearby Kona-Kohala coastline offers many fine beaches and Kailua-Kona
provides island style entertainment as well as the Outback Steakhouse,
CostCo, Macys and the largest Safeway in the state.
Volcanoes National Park, with an ongoing active volcano, is just 1.5
hours south.
Kailua-Kona is the site of the Ironman Triathlon in October. The
race starts and ends right in the middle of Kailua and runs all the
way up to Hawi, 1.5 hours to the north. Also about 1.5 hours north
east is Mauna Kea, the worlds premier celestial observation point.
Over a dozen observatories sit atop the 14,000 foot mountain
accessible by car except when there is snow. Where there is snow
you can rent skis or snowboards and take a tour up the mountain in 4wd
vehicles. Horseback riding is also available up the slopes of
Hualalai Mountain or down into the picturesque Waipio Valley.
There are literally hundreds of things to do on the Big Island, and
Kailua-Kona is the most centrally located staging point for all your
vacation adventures.
