activities and attractions in Kimberley British Columbia
Kimberley is a year round vacation paradise. Whether you take
advantage of the world class ski hill, the magnificent golf courses,
white water rafting on the St.Marys river, or the hiking or biking
trails, there is something for everyone.
Called the Bavarian City of the Rockies, Kimberley is a city rich
with history. Nestled beneath North Star Mountain in the East
Kootenays, Kimberley was named in 1896 after the famous South
African diamond mine. An authentic western mining town, Kimberley's
primary employer was Cominco, who ran the Sullivan Mine (and related
mines) for the better part of this century.
One of B.C.'s premier four-season mountain destinations the city of
Kimberley bustles with cafes, shops and restaurants.
