Welcome to Tuckaseegee Hideaway!
"It was very relaxing by the river." "It was very private, but yet close to town. I will
definitely want to rent this cabin in the future." These are just a few of the comments from
previous guests.
This secluded mountain home is on 800 feet of waterfront on the Tuckaseegee River. Take in exciting
water activities right from the back door: whitewater rafting and tubing, trout fishing, kayaking,
and swimming. Explore the 13 acres just right for hiking. Relax in the rocking chairs on the wide
deck overlooking the river. Fall asleep to the hum of the gentle rapids. Take a ride on the Great
Smokey Mountain Railroad that slips through the tunnel a short hike from the home. Game and books
are provided in this fully stocked home that is built to accomodate two families. There are two
bedrooms with new king size beds and four new twin beds in the very roomy loft/bedroom upstairs.
Located near historic Dillsboro (founded in 1884), you will find this charming town has quaint shops
and friendly shopkeepers.
The Tuckaseegee River is full of fun rapids mixed with stretches to float and relax. Several local
outfitters will rent rafts and kayaks.
The Tuckaseegee is also great for fishing. Check out the North Carolina Wildlife Resources
Commission and you will find that the Tuckaseegee will be stocked with more than 61 thousand
Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout by the end of the season 2008. Touted by many as the best stocked
river for trout in North Carolina, the "Tuck" is a fisherman's paradise.
