Our Summer Vacation

We have been going to Lincoln City for a few years now. This year we thought we would rent a house and save some money. We found Oregon Vacation Rentals online and gave it a try, we could not have been more pleased.

The house was very comfortable, we have 3 teenage daughters and they all had plenty of room to do their thing. The downstairs room was great for grandma and grandpa, because of the close bathroom.

Unlike a hotel, there was plenty of room to stretch out, relax and unwind after shopping all day. Being able to have a full kitchen and just having to bring food was great.

Overall, we will be back soon and look forward to renting again.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing

All in all, nice house. Bathroom off master bedroom is very nice. Other bath they list as full is just shower and it does not have a shower curtain so floor always gets wet. It is on the main floor and 3 bedrooms are upstairs. Says it sleeps 10 but only had towels for 6. Called and asked for more towels on first day and never heard anything all week so did wash each night until dryer broke. Broke on a Sunday morning and we were there till Wed. morning and noone ever came to work on it. Called but girl was rude on phone. Site says 5 cars can park there but everything in the house is very explicit that only 4 cars can be there. Also, site says you get a free night but when I asked for it I was told that doesn't include peak season but I can't find that anywhere on the site. It only mentions holidays and spring break so don't expect that free night! Except for those few things the house is very nice. The neighborhood is great and quiet. Very easy walk to the beach and Lincoln City is very central to the entire coast. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers

Owners response: As owners of Ocean Rose Cottage, we always strive to provide the best service and the most enjoyable vacation experience for our guests. After Tom's stay, we corresponded with him regarding the "1 Night Free" Special in our advertisement and explained it only extended to nights stayed before 5/15/11 at the time of his booking. This was clearly written in the ad. Since Tom did reserve Ocean Rose Cottage for seven nights, we extended a credit to him for "1 Night Free" as a courtesy. Regarding the other issues raised, we appreciated the feedback and have addressed these concerns: (1) Parking: There are four on site spaces counting the breezeway (not five) and street parking for two additional cars in front of the house. (2) Towels: There should have been ten towels at the house and our management company has been notified so this does not happen in the future. We also notified them about our guest's experience with a management worker and are sorry this occurred. We consider our management company the finest on the Oregon Coast and have notified them about this as well. (3) Dryer Repair: A serviceman did inspect the dryer the next day (Monday), but was unable to repair it due to a broken part that needed to be ordered and did not arrive until Friday. (4) Shower Curtain: The second bathroom is not just a shower, but a full bathroom with a custom built glass tiled shower, a toilet, a sink and a cabinet for towels. The shower was designed to be used without a shower curtain as it is enclosed on 3-1/2 sides. Because water can splash onto the small floor area beside the shower, we have decided to install a small shower curtain.
