vacation rental description

"Shore's Nice" is a one of a kind majestic year round lake home
that offers a blend of contemporary and traditional decor and
functionality. As you enter the great room you are immediately awed
by the magnificent and panoramic view of the glacial remnants caused
by the earths last ice age. "Seneca Lake" at it's widest point is
truly a wonder to behold.
The property is located at the very end of a well maintained
access road in a very secluded and private section of Hansen
Harbor. "Shore Nice" is also conveniently situated smack in the heart
of the NYS Wine Belt.
This lovely home has three bedrooms, a bunk room, two full baths,
a full kitchen and dinning area and a magnificent Great Room. As you
move from Kitchen/Dining area, you step into the spectacular
sunken "Great Room" that will literally knock your socks off when you
see the view.
All the rooms and living areas with the exception of side bedroom
(which overlooks a wooded area)and the bunk room were constructed to
take full advantage of the spectacular lake view.
A few steps down to the beach and your ready to swim,
sunbathe, fish, kayak, you name it! This property boasts 150 feet of
some of the most level and pristine beach frontage in the area.
Perfect for launching one of the properties kayaks,or paddle
boat or just hanging out. Ideal for family's with small children.
At night... bonfires on the beach! A traditional beach fire pit
at waters edge, great for roasting marshmallows, telling ghost
stories or just enjoying a romantic evening by the water.
Perhaps beach activities aren't your cup of tea. Well then... you
can pack up your radio and suntan lotion and take a stroll out to the
end of the 100 foot wood dock. Now here... you will truly experience
a breathtaking view and be able to totally relax surrounded by the
serenity and calm of the wind, sun and water. Is that glorious
sunshine making things a little warm? Take a dive off the dock for a
refreshing dip in the crystal clear water, where the water depth is
a comfortable five foot(average seasonal depth at the end of the dock
is approximately five to six feet, but can vary depending on amount
of rainfall during the rental season).
Or Maybe you just wanna kickback in one of the Adirondack
chairs under the shade of the Pergola on the side deck for an
afternoon snooze. Or catch up on a good book, while enjoying a glass
of one of the area's world famous wines produced, literally, just
down the road.

traveler reviews for this seneca lake house rental

An awesome spot

Gary and Suzy (Stillwater, Minnesota)
Review submitted: September 9, 2011   Date of arrival: July 31, 2011

What a fantastic place. It was very clean, well kept and we could tell the owners really cared about this property.
It is such a relaxing and comfortable cottage. Beautiful views and lots and lots of space.
If you are looking for a great get away place this is it. The dock with the boat lift is such a plus and there is plenty of room for your entire family.
We will certainly return when we go back to New York.
Every detail of the contract was first class and spelled out so their were no suprises.
We got our deposit back even before we got back to Minnesota.
The village of Penn Yan is only a 15 minute drive away so if you need gas or supplies it is easy to get them.
Thanks for a simply wonderful week.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Not what it seems

This is not a 3 bedroom. It is a 2 bedroom with a murphy bed in a stuffy den addition without air conditioning or good window ventilation. The "bunk room" is not a room but an alcove behind the dining room breakfront with a bunk bed slid into it. The "access road" is gravel and very steep at the end. It will wreck your car and you can't bike or walk anywhere from it. The dock, deck, front room and master bedroom are all pretty nice and the availability of kayaks was really great. However, the owners are not people you want to deal with. They have not returned our deposit.
