Pacific Ocean. Spectacular views from the living room, master
bedroom and kitchen/dining area. Just 1/4 mile from the beach and
ten miles from Ocean Shores.

Master bedroom has a King size bed, second bedroom has a Queen size
bed, and there is a fold out in the living room.

Spend the day on the beach and the evening curled up in front of a
cozy fire. Perfect for summer time picnics and winter time storm
watching. Quiet, peaceful, a wonderful place to get away from it
all!

Please no house parties or smoking.

A steep walk to the beach and a landing strip

There is no question that the house is lovely and the view is spectacular. As a private, romantic get-away it is perfect. The amenities are great, the beds are comfortable and it's an easy drive to the town of Ocean Shores.
But what we were not told was that the easy walk to the beach is not easy at all. It's a quarter mile down a steep windy road - which means a quarter mile back UP. And when you are 60 years old and have bad knees, it's a killer. The printed instructions we received from the owner said we were not to drive our car down the road to the beach because the properties were privately owned and there was no parking. So my husband made the walk with the dog on the first day and when he returned he was covered in sweat, breathless and nearly collapsing. After that we took the car (we unofficially designated ourselves as handicapped). There was plenty of room to park.
The second thing that surprised us was when we were awakened early the first morning by the loud roar of planes flying low overhead. What the - ? Turns out this stretch of beach is actually an official AIRPORT with small planes taking off and landing all morning and periodically throughout the day! It's not a problem when you are watching from the deck of the cabin, but quite another when you want to let your dog (or children) run loose on the beach. Our Golden Retriever absolutely loves running on the beach, but she hasn't got the brains God gave a doorknob and my husband refused to take her down there for fear she'd get run over. So instead, we drove down the road to a crowded public park with beach access which was nice but not ideal. We did go down to "our" beach late in the afternoons once the plane activity had ceased and it is definitely a very lovely, private beach, but in my opinion, calling this particular property "beach front" is misleading. Beach view is more like it.
If you are looking for a quiet retreat, a hideaway with a beautiful view where you can sit and read a book, this is certainly it. But if you want a place to take the kids where they can easily run in and out and play on the beach, then I would advise you look elsewhere.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

What a lovely and welcoming home! The stresses and tensions of daily life melt away as you ease into the relaxing comfort of Honahhlee house and the nearby, near-private beach. With a well-stocked kitchen and all the comforts of home there is no reason to leave as long as your fridge is full. The quiet, meandering road to the beach is easy to follow. We discovered a bonus on our last trip when we realized Copalis Beach, unlike other Washington beaches, is closed to road traffic (for the summer season), allowing our toddler and dog to roam freely along the extensive landscape. Sipping beer on the deck from mugs the owner keeps thoughtfully chilled in the freezer while gazing at the old growth trees and sparkling ocean is pure Honahhlee heaven!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
