vacation rental description

This vacation home is in a quiet, peaceful, park-like setting on four acres along the beautiful Bitterroot River, just 15 minutes south of Missoula.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck while you watch beautiful sunrises over the river and Sapphire Mountains. In the evening, watch the sun set over the Bitterroot Mountains. You will have direct access from the property to fishing, floating, and swimming.

Hike miles of nearby trails to rugged peaks and mountain lakes, creeks and ponds. Wildlife abound. Canada geese and a variety of ducks use the river. Watch deer and fox wander through the property and eagles and osprey dipping for fish. For a day trip, Glacier Park is just a 3-hour drive north. Yellowstone Park is 4-1/2 hours away

The living room, with glass doors opening to the deck, faces the river and the Sapphire Mountain range. The family room faces west to the Bitterroot Mountain Range and has a gas fireplace for chilly evenings. The family room furniture includes a futon which is suitable for one adult or two children.

There are two bedrooms, each with a large bathroom. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds.

A sunroom is connected to the main bedroom through french doors. It's a great place to sit and read, work on your computer, or just enjoy the views.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including your basic cooking essentials such as spices, oil, coffee, tea, sugar. There are plenty dishes, glasses, and cookware, even a pizza stone and a counter-top Foreman grill.

It's quiet, peaceful, and beautiful here. We take pride in ensuring the vacation rental is well maintained and that our guests have everything they need to make their stay most enjoyable. We have, ourselves, stayed in vacation rentals. Using that as a learning experience, we have tried to make our vacation rental as close to home and comfortable as possible

No smoking in the house please. Well-behaved dogs are allowed with a $50 charge to cover  additional time in cleaning. They must not be left in the house alone and renter is responsible for any damage caused by the dog.

Just 45 minutes away is one of the best mule deer hunting units in the west and 20 minutes to excellent archery hunting for deer at the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge. Fly fish in the Bitterroot River from the back yard.

2 Weeks in Paradise

Denise (New Jersey)
Review submitted: August 25, 2012   Date of arrival: August 8, 2012

Dutch and Nancy have a slice of paradise on the Bitterrroot River. The house is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The views of the Sapphire Mountains across the river with the sunrise are spectacular. We saw deer, eagles, ospreys and sand hill cranes all from the comfort of the back deck. For those who enjoy fly fishing, as my husband does, the river is at the edge of the property. Missoula is a short 20 minutes drive away. Don’t forget to visit the extensive farmer’s market on Saturdays. We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we were not moving to the area next year.

My husband and I have stayed at this property twice now--for a month each time. Upon our arrival the first time, we were just so overwhelmed with the lovely views across the Bitterroot River to the east and the mountains to the west of us that we knew we were going to be coming back. The home was exactly as described regarding its location. As far as the photos of the house are concerned, they really didn't do the house justice. Everything was so much more roomy and comfortable and big. There are new photos now on the website, and there is nothing inaccurate about them. This is a wonderful home. It was clean and spotless when we arrived; everything was in good working order.

We enjoyed just "being"....you know, sitting and staring at the views and the sunsets and sunrises. But we also enjoyed going to the Garnet ghost town with visitors. And, because the Bitterroot behind the house is considered a family float river, our guests took a couple of float trips, including me. Watched an osprey dip down and catch a fish.

You can't go wrong renting this house. The best bonus is that the owners, Nancy and Dutch, are just so friendly and helpful. They really want their renters to have a good experience and an enjoyable time.
