Condo Mayan-Fantastic Views and right across from the Beach in Isla Mujeres

Loma Bonita is a quaint community near the quite southern end of isla mujeres. We met numerous other owners of properties in the complex and were very pleased with the open friendly atmosphere of the facility. The pool was fantastic for our three kids (2-8 yrs old). It has several different levels and is a good size for playing in. The complex issue up of three buildings of condos all with nice balconies and views of the community grounds and garden. The garden is well manicured with animal shaped shrubs, a nice island touch! There are several beaches within walking distance just across the road, typically you purchase food or drink from the restaurant and there is no charge to use the chairs, umbrellas etc. a few favorite stops in the area included snorkelling at Garrafon de Castilla, the sculpture garden on the south end of the island, fish BBQ at Playa Lancheros at sunset and swimming at the north beach. The absolute highlight was driving around the island in our golf cart ($55/ day) The condo itself is a huge two bedroom unit (2 beds in ea room) with traditional decor. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, blender, toaster, and microwave. Each bedroom and living room has a tv. There is also a great hammock for relaxing on the ground level patio. The grocery store ( chedraui) is on the main road close by and carries everything you would need. This unit was nice, basic and met our needs well

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing

Beautiful Condo and Lovely Island

We enjoyed out stay at this beautiful condo and relaaxing island of Isla Mujeres. The manager Jose, did all he could to make our visit pleasurable and he speaks English too! It is very quiet because of it's location in the south end and our time spent here was perfect. Will be back again for sure.

This rental unit is a very quite place, relaxing with beautiful grounds so peaceful. No place for loud kids or the rowdy. The pool is very nice for a quite area to read. You can see the ocean but it is a bit of a hike to get to the water. The condo unit is in need of some major up keep. Windows are not sealed, screens have holes and are torn. Lots of ants no matter how much we kept the condo clean. We had big bug bites all over us when we woke up, thinking spider bites so don't forget the bug spray. The blender and food processors do not work. Linens are stained. Residents at Loma Bonita and in the area are very freindly and nice. The closest beach Playos Indios, is expensive and very noisy. This is where all the tourist come on day trips to swim with a shark they keep in a small cage, sad. A bettter place is Graffon de Castillo, $50 peso to hang out all day, great snoreling (more pesos) within walking distance. Puna Sur has great paths that wind around the cliffs, $30 peso, a must see! Rent a golf cart to get around the North side of the Island as the public bus was rarley seen. Cabs are always available but adds up quickly. You can hike up to the mid town with lots of little stores and a grocery store. Everything for sale is negotiable in Isla, golf carts say $650 peso for a day but we negotiated $500 peso per day. T-shirts and nick nacks offer half for what they are asking. Make sure to get to Soggy Peso a fun bar, if you can make it on Sunday you are in for a treat. We did notice lots of trash all over the island, very sad. It rained several days and was cloudy almost everyday, I don't think I will be back anytime soon.
