It's time to kick off your shoes, relax and get away from everyday.
And The Pelican's Elbow in Destin is the vacation home to help you
do just that. It has everything you need for that relaxing week at
the seashore, including a large private swimming pool and patio -
great for morning coffee instead of a morning commute.

You’ll have a spacious fenced back yard for privacy and security,
with tropical landscaping and your own swimming pool, the largest
in the neighborhood. The pool is "L-shaped," 28'1/2 feet long by
9-13 feet wide. Best of all, the pool is all yours – no sharing with
the neighborhood or a condo association. Perhaps you are back
from an afternoon at the beach, or it’s after dinner – the pool is
a great place for the kids (and adults) to enjoy themselves
without the need to organize an expedition other than out the
back door.

The home is located on a quiet street in a private gated community,
close to the beach.

The Pelican's Elbow is pet-friendly, so your pet can also enjoy the
family vacation.

Don't be crammed into a cramped condo. This beautiful home with its
nautical decor is perfect for large families or groups. You have
room to stretch out -- 2020 sq. feet (largest floor plan in the
neighborhood) -- with large living/dining room, four bedrooms and
two baths, full kitchen, and a spacious family room. All bedrooms
and baths are on a single floor - no stairs to deal with.

The spacious Master bedroom features a king size bed, TV/VCR/DVD,
a private bath with soaker tub and shower and a huge closet. The
Kahuna and Palm Bedrooms both have queen beds, TV/VCR and alarm
clocks just in case you don't want to sleep in. The Twin bedroom
features two twin beds and TV/VCR. All bedrooms have a ceiling fan.
There are queen sleeper sofas in separate living and family rooms. A
Pack-N-Play type crib and a single rollaway bed are available.

The white-sugar-sand beach is a short stroll away and dining,
shopping and amusements are close at hand. You can swim with
dolphins, cruise the Gulf, parasail, kayak or partake in any of dozens
of other nearby activities.

At the end of a great day in the sun, you can enjoy the family room
with high-definition TV/VCR/DVD and selection of books, videos and
family games. Free high-speed Internet is provided.

Kick back, soak up some sun and work on your tan (or lounge in the
shade) and enjoy life at the Pelican's Elbow.

Destin features a wide array of water-oriented activities, including
beautiful white-sand beaches, surfing, sailing, parasailing,
snorkeling/scuba diving, pontoon boat rentals, windsurfing,
kayaking, jet skiing, sightseeing/dinner/dolphin watching cruises,
and shelling. You can even swim with the dolphins in the open ocean.
The shopping is great, with the largest Designer Outlet Mall in the
US just 3 miles from the home.

You may wish to rent a street-legal golf cart for your vacation.
They're handy for zipping to and from the beach. They can be
operated on any street with a 35 mph speed limit (or less), must
obey all traffic and parking laws, and must be parked in our
garage when at the home.  We recommend Destin Golf Cart
Rentals (search for it, this site won't allow URLs).

Other activities include hiking/walking (Gulf-front state parks
nearby), biking, miniature golf, fitness center/gym, tennis,
wildlife viewing, horseback riding, amusement parks, museums, zoo,
restaurants, cinemas and scooter & electric vehicle rentals.

The Destin area is home to a dozen fine golf courses, available to
the public. There are nearby state forests with biking trails and
bike, kayak and canoe rentals. And Destin is close to deep water,
boasting a large fleet of charter fishing boats and day boats for
the finest in deep-sea fishing.

Base rates below for up to 8 people.  See below for rates for additional people and pets.

Spring 2013 -- April 6 - May 24 -- $1475/week, $190/night, 3-night minimum. 

Summer 2013 -- May 25 - Aug 16 -- $2350/week, full week only. 

Late Summer 2013 -- Aug 17 - Sept 20 --$1475/week, $225/night, 3-night minimum.

Fall 2013 -- Sept 21 - Nov 1 -- $1275/week, $190/night, 3-night minimum.

Winter 2013/2014 -- Nov 2 -  Feb 28, 2014 -- $1050/week, $155/night, 3- night minimum. Dec-Feb $1500/month for 2 people.  Add $100/mo for each add'l person.

Rate for up to 8 people.  The home sleeps up to 12, so add $100/week ($15/night) for each additional person over age 2.

Small pets are welcome with prior approval. The rate is $150/week for one pet;
$250/week for two, nightly $25 each. Call for rates on larger pets.

We rent to responsible student groups with a $1000 damage deposit and $175
cleaning fee.  Additional damage deposit and cleaning fee for groups over 8 people.

A cleaning fee of $140 will be charged for family groups.

Half of rent is due upfront to secure reservation. The remainder of
the rent, plus 12% FL tax, and a $500 damage deposit (plus $100 per pet)
are due 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. Security deposit will be refunded
2-3 days after checkout if property is left in the condition it was found.

All reservations during peak season are from Saturday (4 pm check-
in) to Saturday (10 am check-out).

so you can pay by credit card. A 3% credit card fee will be charged.
