I noticed that no one had done a review on this condo for some time so thought I would put my 2 cents worth in.

My husband (57) and I (55) travelled to Maui to attend a wedding for the week Oct 13 - 20, 2012. There were several members of the family staying at the Maui Banyan so we were able to compare units.

We have never been to Maui before. The instructions provided by the unit owner or managing company were very easy to follow. We had no problems with parking (even tho we forgot to put the parking pass in the window a couple times). The Kihei area is nice and very easy to get to various other locations around the island. There are grocery stores and a few restaurants in the area.

The condo was very clean and has recently been updated. I was pleasantly surprised to find the condo was equiped with toilet paper, paper towels and some "hotel size" soaps. Nice to have especially when you arrive at 9pm at night. The condo also supplied plenty of towels, additional linens, a couple beach chairs, a cooler and some boogie boards for the beach.

The only down side was that the mattress on the king bed was extremely hard. We never thought to try the hide-a-bed or move that mattress to the king bed so I'm not sure of how comfy that mattress is. I have an issue with my bones and assorted pain, but my husband found a chaise lounge mattress pad in the closet that I used for the duration of the stay. I was very thankful for that amenity!

During our stay the pool near the front of the condo was closed down for repairs (it would have been nice to know this in advance, but was not detrimental to our stay) so the pool at the other end of the condo was very busy. Several of our family complained that it would have been nice to know this as we had a big family bar-b-que planned for the night prior to the wedding.

Several of the units provide beach umbrellas - ours did not. Thankfully, we were able to share the umbrella when we went to the beach.

Overall, the Maui Banyan and this unit was a great stay and I would not hesitate to stay again (as long as I can use the chaise lounge mattress on the bed).

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you very much for posting a very positive and detailed review. We just replaced our mattress with a brand new one (4-2013). We furnish all of our condos with "hotel quality" mattresses identical to the ones used in the large hotels such as Marriott, Hyatt, Sheraton, etc. These are higher quality mattresses that maintain their form and are manufactured to accommodate the sleeping comfort of most people.
Our resort has two gorgeous pools. Earlier this year, we owners decided to invest funds from our HOA reserves into renovating both pools, lounge areas, restroorms & BBQ facilities. We are doing this to make these areas more enjoyable for all owners and guests who stay at Maui Banyan. To minimize any inconvenience, the renovations are being done one area at a time, during our slower Fall Season, so that they will be completed before the busy 2013 Winter Season.

We had a wonderful stay at your Maui Banyan condo. It was fully equiped, clean and the locataion couldn't have been better. I would definitely rent this unit again!

We had a great time at your Maui Condo's, P403 and H403. The ammendaties were great along with the extra item's "Snorkles, fins, masks, beach chairs, mats, and coolers" Thank you. We will recommend to others and keep info. for future travel's to Maui. Thank you.
