A very private cabin on a beautiful 3.4 acre piece of property between
Stover Creek and a large branch is available for weekend getaways or
perhaps longer. The secluded screened porch with a luxury hot tub
alcove facing the woods has the sounds of rushing water and wildlife
singing to you every night.
This wonderful retreat is in the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area
of the Chattahoochee National Forest, but is still only an hour and a
half drive from Atlanta.
The mountains of north Georgia are not touristy or trashy. The people
are pleasant with character and culture. Youll become a part of this
place, if you want to, and then youll want to return to your second
home again and again.
house rental amenities
Two full bedrooms, large loft and sofa beds provide total possible
sleeping for up 6 adults comfortably (3 beds and 2 sofa beds). Two
large bathrooms and a washer
and dryer provide all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well
stocked with spices, vinegars, oils. It's appointed with many
appliances, including a dishwasher and gas range and stove.
Of course there is satellite TV, stereo, and central heat and air.
But the atmosphere from a real wood burning stone fireplace makes it
feel like camping without roughing it. Incidentally, there is
plenty of firewood.
activities and attractions in Ellijay Georgia
There is no end of fun things to do in this area. Hiking abounds; the
Benton MacKaye and the Appalachian Trail heads are less than 15
minutes away on Springer Mountain, and there are numerous other trails
all close by that lead to waterfalls and spectacular mountain views.
Fishing opportunities in trout streams and in area mountain lakes are
also plentiful and cater to all skill levels. Enjoy the canoeing and
tubing on the Cartecay and Toccoa rivers and challenging white water
rafting that is a short drive away. Mountain bike trails and horse
back riding are also easy to find and just minutes away.
If youre not quite so energetic youll find the beautiful downtown
area of Ellijay less than 15 minutes away. Ellijay has numerous
antique shops and art galleries and small eateries. Ellijay is host
to an apple festival in October, but the numerous orchards are open
all year long and have tours, some offer hayrides for the kids. Old
fashion train rides along the Toccoa River or a visit to an ancient
American Indian site can make for a relaxing time in the mountains.
The area is rich with history and a short drive to Dahlonega will
offer an adventure into the past where the first gold rush in the
United States occurred. Numerous mountain music venues can be found
as close as a few miles away and of course in Ellijay.
