jewel, the Racquet Club Garden Villas, served as the pied-a-terre to
Hollywood royalty in the 1960’s. Designed by renowned mid-century
architect William Cody, this 1000 square foot unit abounds with Cody’s
trademark design features. Block walls, large cantilevered roof
overhangs, and floor-to-ceiling glass framing mountain vistas. The
Villas was originally built as a hotel and opened in 1960. This
restored unit, one of 37, features the original floor plan, a large
open living room and galley kitchen with original cabinetry and new
“all electric” appliances, including washer/dryer. There are two full
baths with original tile and dressing areas clad in “boomerang”
Formica. The large bedroom features a king size bed. The unit is
furnished with reproduction “case study” furniture with original
exposed concrete floors throughout. There are two private patios for
outdoor dining or soaking up the sun. The property includes a large,
wonderful swimming pool, surrounded by lush gardens. Enjoy the desert
