bath contemporary home with yard, 3 balconies, 3 fireplaces, outside
shower. Master bedroom has sitting area with fireplace. Living room
has fireplace and additional fireplace on upper balcony. King bed
in master, queen in 2nd bedroom, den has double rollaway or queen
air mattress. Hardwood floors, lovely area rugs, artwork, very nice
furnishings. TVs in den, 2nd bedroom, living room. Stereo on cable
and high speed internet connection.

This place is as good as the pictures look. My wife and I visited here with our 19 and 21 year old young adults and had an excellent family vacation. There are spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The TVs are all high-definition flat-screens with cable TV & HBO (channel 700).

I loved taking long walks on the beach from Torrey Pines State Beach north to Del Mar beach - about a two mile walk up the beach - and there was a good cell signal the whole way. The pool and spa where kept clean and where lots of fun to use. The home’s grounds are a tropical paradise with beautiful lighting at night.

We also appreciated having the air-conditioning (most of the time it is not needed in coastal Del Mar), since the week we stayed in August had an unusual warm spell. It cooled off nicely at night with tropical breezes that could be enjoyed from the many decks and patios.

There is a cozy fire pit next to the spa and a gas grill (connected to the house gas) that was on the upper patio with a great view of the ocean while you’re grilling. There also is an outside fireplace on this upper deck, which was awesome.

I appreciated the service that the rental company offers, and any questions or issues that you might have are dealt with promptly.

I recommend the Poseidon Restaurant in Del Mar for excellent seaside dining. Make sure you go there and sit out on the patio so you can see the sunset. The manager, Sammy, gave us a great seat and recommend some nice French wines (he's French and knows his wines). It is pricey but worth the money. Try the blackened swordfish or salmon dinners. My son really enjoyed the filet mignon steak.

My wife likes the shops in Del Mar and La Jolla. We always like to visit Old Town San Diego for a taste of San Diegan Mexican cuisine. Don't miss Fashion Valley Mall for some upscale shopping at stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomingdale's. We like eating at PF Chang's China Bistro and California Pizza Kitchen at the mall. Nearby to Fashion Valley mall is the Mission Valley mall, which has a ton of additional stores that are not so pricey.

When we visit San Diego we always enjoy Sea World - make sure you see all the shows - they are really entertaining. Downtown San Diego, Sea Port Village, and the zoo are a must see, too. Make sure to book this house in Nov. or Dec. to get a good summer week.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway

Amazing vacation home

We stayed at this house with our 5 year old son and my parents. The setting is amazing - you can see the ocean from the house/yard. The pool was perfect for us. The location is very convenient - close to "the 5", close to restaurants and the beach in Del Mar. Easy to get to the airport, Legoland, the zoo and Seaworld. We hope to stay here again.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
