apartment rental amenities

The city was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great in order to
safeguard the inlet to the river Neva and territories, reconquered
in the course of the Northern War between Russia and Sweden at the
beginning of the 18th century. Peter I conceived the city as a
gateway to the Baltic sea, which connects Russia to the European
world.

Saint Petersburg is now one of the most visited tourist centers of
the world because of its cultural and historical importance. The
architectural appearance of Saint Petersburg always conveyed the
idea of the imperial power of Russia. It is reflected in luxurious
and sumptuous palaces and temples, erected by famous architects like
Rastrelli, Voronihin, Rossi and Kvasov. Numerous islands, rivers and
tortuous canals give the city an exceptional originality and
particular fascination. Small bridges, domes of temples and their
mosaics, wonderful fronts of palaces attract all eyes of Saint
Petersburg guests. In the period from June till July it is
particular charming in Saint Petersburg. Nights at this time are
light and are called “white nights” - Beliye Notchi. It occurs
because of the high latitude. This phenomenon when dawn meets
sunset – is an unforgettable spectacle. Streets and avenues of the
city become crowded. It is a preferable time for loving couples, who
can seclude themselves from the others.

Peterhof
Founded at the beginning of the 18th century by tsar Peter the Great
not far from the new Russian capital (Saint Petersburg), Peterhof
was destined to be the most splendid royal summer residence.
Its wonderful parks, 176 fountains, majestic palaces, gilded statues
of ancient gods and heroes, its remarkable collections of sculpture
and painting made Peterhof the real capital of art, the only one of
its kind.
After 1917 the architectural ensemble of Peterhof was taken under
the state protection and transformed into the world museum of
architecture and art. At present Peterhof has become the most
attractive center for numerous Russian and foreign visitors.

Mariinsky Theatre
Saint Petersburg is the very place, where the Russian musical
theatre was born. Already in the 18th century opera and ballet were
given at the tsar`s court.
Mariinski is one of the oldest Russian theatres. It was constructed
in 1860 after the project of the architect A. Kvasov and was named
in honor of the empress Maria Alexandrovna, wife of the tsar
Alexander II.
Its history is rich in remarkable events, which are described in
enormous archives of the theatre. The ancient documents, libretto of
spectacles, sketches, photos are carefully conserved and used for
the creation of modern performances.
Repertory of the theatre includes masterpieces of the “gold fund” of
classic operas and ballets. Last year the theatre realized joint
performances with the greatest operas of the world.

Hermitage Museum
The Winter Palace – the central residence of Russian tsars, which
was constructed in 1754-1762 after the design of F.B. Rastrelli -
plays the principal role in the architectural ensemble of the Palace
Square. The Winter Palace was the official royal residence in Saint
Petersburg until 1764 when Empress Catherine II founded the
Hermitage Museum that occupied part of the rooms. Later more housing
was erected to accommodate the growing collection: The Small
Hermitage, The Grand (Old) Hermitage, The Hermitage Theatre, and the
New Hermitage, which is easily recognized by the Atlases supporting
the porch.
The central green-and-white baroque building (Winter Palace) is
really very impressive. It contains 1,786 doors, 1,945 windows and
1,057 halls and rooms, most of which are open to the public. The
Hermitage collections count more than 3 million masterpieces of art,
demonstrating the development of the world culture and art from the
stone age till the 20th century. The visitors can admire here the
most famous works of Leonardo da Vinci (“Madonna Litta” y “Madonna
Benua”), Raphael, Michelangelo, Titian, Rembrandt. Here are also
