Vacation Rental Description

Privacy abounds in this year round vacation home, nestled in the  
peaceful virgin pines on the eastern shore of Big St. Germain Lake! 
 
This spacious half log home offers plenty of room for family get- 
togethers, and yet has plenty of quiet sitting areas to sneak away  
from it all. 
 
The loft, with full size bed and sofa sleeper overlooks the large  
living room below, complete with table & chairs for games and puzzle  
building.  The large windows offer a full lake view! 
 
The family room boasts a beautiful fieldstone wood burning fireplace  
with additional sofa, loveseat & chair and French doors that face  
lakeside for catching that cool evening breeze. 
 
There are two nice size bedrooms on the main level, one with a queen  
size bed and the other with a full size.  Both offer closets and  
dresser space as well. 
 
The home provides privacy galore, with your own pier, level frontage, 
and sandy bottom-perfect for swimming.  For those who prefer to  
bring their own boat, there's a boat launch just a short  
distance further down on Forest Drive.

Vacation Rental Amenities

This home offers 315 feet of pristine lake frontage, an outdoor fire pit  
with wood, private pier/dock with nearby boat launch, telephone  
(local calls only), color TVs, with cable, VCR and DVD, internet  
connectability, fresh bed linens, pillows and blankets, indoor wood  
burning fireplace, charcoal grill, lawn chairs, 16' aluminum boat  
(extra wide) and life vests. There's even a 15 hp outboard motor  
available for $150/wk rental as well as a 20', 10 passenger pontoon  
boat renting at $7000/wk or $135/day. 
 
The home has two full bathrooms one with a shower and the other  
with a bathtub. 
 
The kitchen is fully equipped with standard size refrigerator and  
stove along with most of the other comforts of home.  The large  
kitchen table can seat 7, again with full lake view!

Activities and Attractions

With the western exposure, you'll enjoy outstanding sunsets over the  
water, all within full view from most of the rooms in the house.   
We'll make sure there's plenty of corn on hand for you to fill the  
deer feeder and await their late afternoon arrival! 
 
The St. Germain Chamber of Commerce boasts that St. Germain is located in "the  
Center of it All", and it truly is!  Tucked in the woods along  
highway 70, Saint Germain is about 11 miles east of Minocqua and  
Woodruff, and about 13 miles west of Eagle River. These areas play  
host to year-round fun! 
 
In Winter, you can snowmobile right from your door to hundreds of  
miles on the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Trail System.  Trails are groomed  
nightly throughout the winter, and time and time again we hear  
comments from visitors on how fantastic the trails are maintained in  
Saint Germain.  In addition there's cross country skiing, down hill  
ski resorts within a short drive, snow shoeing, fabulous ice fishing  
and even an occasional outdoor festivital to include Radar Runs, dog  
sled races, and so much more! 
 
In Summer, enjoy swimming and an array of watersports on 1600 acre  
Big St. Germain Lake, excellent for water skiing and tubing due to  
it's sheer size.  There is a new Bike & Hike Trail that now connects  
St. Germain to the Sayner Bike Trail. This trail will provide even  
more opportunity to bike, hike, jog, roller blade and will be  
stroller and wheelchair friendly, not to mention providing  
outstanding bird and nature watching!  With additional fund raising  
efforts, the next phase will be completed in 2008.  In time, there's  
a plan to connect all of the bike trails throughout Vilas County,  
making one continuous loop! 
 
Spring & Fall offer a time to get away from it all and relax in this  
peaceful setting with stands of towering White Pines.  Big St.  
Germain Lake is also known for its Class A musky fishing.  The 1st  
and 2nd place muskies in the 16th Annual 2004 St. Germain Greater  
Wisconsin Muskie Tournament were caught on Big St. Germain Lake!  If  
you require a Guide to assist you in capturing "the Big One", we  
can help you locate one!  And there's plenty of advice and tips to  
be given out by the local bait shops in town.  The popular new sport  
of Geo-caching has made it's way to the Northwoods.  Plans are  
underway to provide GPS units for rental from several area  
businesses, making it easy for first time treasure seekers to jump

After a full day of fun, Saint Germain plays host to a terrific  
assortment of restaurants and bars all within two miles of your  
cabin.  From the casual fare of burgers and subs to the outstanding  
steaks offered at Blink Bonnie's or excellent italian cuisine at  
Spang's, you'll find something to fit all budgets and tastes.

Rates are based on 6 persons or less.  Additional persons pay  
$15/nt or $75/wk
