3 levels of awesomeness

Review submitted: April 21, 2014   Date of arrival: April 12, 2014

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas so we weren't really sure what to expect. We were looking for less crowds, but same great beach as the Beaches of South Walton. We have stayed in many condos in the Panhandle and down in Sanibel Island. This was by far the most spacious. As my tweener boys proclaimed when they walked in "This is awesome! 3 levels of awesomeness!"
I must admit we laughed at some previous comments about the condo being "well-stocked" but this was unbelievable. There are coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas. The kitchen has all necessary appliances, plus tons of spices and even baggies, tin foil, saran wrap all perfect for packing a picnic lunch.
There is plenty of space on the beach for each family to have their own privacy but everyone was so friendly it didn't matter.
The best part for us was the close proximity to the beach. You literally walk out your door and down the steps and you are on the most beautiful white sand beach. We had our 5 month old labradoodle with us and he had a blast. People were great about picking up after their dogs and the beach was clean and so safe that people just left their chairs out for the next day.
There were a nice mix of couples and families. We visited St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and it was ver cool. We took one trail that led us to the bay and the ground was crawling with thousands of crabs. My boys were thrilled and I had never really seen anything like it. We saw dolphins, rays and even a shark just off the shore. While we were there a storm blew through and completely changed the layout of the beach which was really interesting and cool for my boys.
Coneheads restaurant is decent food and really friendly people. Good ice cream too. They do close at 9 and the Cape is eastern time so just beware. We loved our stay in this amazing condo and will definitely stay again. We have already recommended it to friends and family. Thanks Gil!
