nestled around a beautiful 192 acre lake with a private beach where
you can enjoy fishing, swimming and boating (electric motors only).
After you play a game of tennis or basketball on the courts you can
relax by the pool or lounge in the clubhouse.
Towamensing Trails is located on route 903 only 5 minutes from
Big Boulder and 10 minutes to Jack Frost ski slopes.Penns Peak is
also easily accessible. Additionally, other nearby activities
include Hiking,hunting,whitewater rafting,paintball,golf,
antiquing,outlet shopping,NASCAR racing, horseback riding, minature
golf, skirmishing.
This newly renovated home features (3) bedrooms, 2 full baths,
sleeps 8-10 comfortably. (1) Queen, (1) full, (1) daybed(2 twins),
(1) queen size sleeper sofa and (1) full size sleeper sofa.
Finished basement with washer, dryer, woodburning stove, (2) TV's
with cable/DVD/VCR, Internet access(no computer)..
Eat in fullly equiped Kitchen.

Not what we expected....

Looked ok in the picture but the owner doesn't take care of the house. Lot of things broken, ie. couches in the living room had broken springs so you sunk into the sofa. Other broken items: blender, ice maker, DVD player downstairs,towel rack, bathroom floor tiles, pool sticks(there was one for a child only), rack to set up balls. We called the owner he said that he had just replaced them a month ago but didn't offer to bring us any. The deck was separating from the house and in really bad shape. Pots were gross and wouldn't want to cook with them. We knew the couches had been broken for over a year because there was a journal in the house where people could comment about their stay at the house. No coffee table or end tables in the living room. The house wasn't very clean when we arrived, yet we had to pay an $85 cleaning fee to have the house cleaned after we left. We walked around the house with bare feet the first night and our feet were filthy. The kitchen cabinets over the stove were greasy. The queen and full beds were extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. There are NO AIR CONDITIONERS so it was hot. Toilets were brown. The house has well water and almost every time we turned on the faucet brown water would come pouring out. The owner didn't leave us any information on where the pool/lake was or where to bring the garbage and neither was easy to find. Internet stopped working the day after we got there and the owner wanted us to stay home to wait for the service guy to come. I didn't think it was my responsibility to wait around for his internet to be fixed but I did it because I needed it. Several lights stopped working. We called the owner and he asked us to go out and buy light bulbs! The cleaning people dropped off some light bulbs for us. My son was sitting on the couch one night and a mouse comes running by him. The next morning we find mouse droppings on the counter and dining room floor! We called the owner and again he asked us if we could be home to let in the exterminator.
When we first signed the contract we asked him how long it would take to get our deposit back and he said we would have it back the week after our stay. Well, that was not the case and I had to call him several times to find out where our check was. It took us over 2 weeks to get our deposit back. We have rented many homes and this one just wasn't a home we would ever go back to. The pool and lake in the community was nice - just find a different house to stay in.

Owners response: In response to the critique: the owners of this hoiuse take very good care of this property.Let's start from the beginning. First, this renter was in the house for about 15 minutes and called the owner to find out where a grocery store was located. We gave directions to the renters regarding the stores, resturants, lake and club house. The blender was not broken. There is no ice maker hooked up to plumbing (our choice). There were two brand new pool sticks along with the rack to set up the balls.I read the comments in the notebook and have not had a complaint yet. There are no end tables in the living because the loveseat is very close to the dinning room table.The cleanliness of the house was never an issue. The cleaning service does a great job. I have been in the house numerous times after they have cleaned and never had any complaints. (They didn't know I was coming to the house.)The toilets have never been brown after they have serviced the house. You stated that several lights were not working. Note: there were two light bulbs that needed to be replaced. We had light bulbs delivered to the door step while you were gone. Note: the cleaning service noticed that the windows were left open with nobody present. She notified us because it was raining and they were concerned about possible water damage to the floors and walls. There were numerous showers during that week. The windows should have been closed prior to you leaving the house. Also, you called us after staying in the house for five days and wanted us to supply additional toilet paper. You also wanted more trash bags. Again, there were trash bags in the cabinet when you arrived. All of the mattresses are less than 3 years old. Regarding the modem failure. We have not experienced a break down. We arranged for service asap.As per the cleaning service, you took it upon yourself to rearrange the internet connections. There were cables running from the basement, up the stairs and into the living room. (safety hazard)Family member drove 2 hours to rearrange the cables. Exterminator arranged asap.

This house was very clean, warm and inviting. The kitchen was great to work in. We ate dinner every night home. The hot tub works great and was soothing at night after a long day.

The pictures do not do the house justice. It is very roomy and comfortable. We loved the deck to eat dinners on and watch the deer.

The owners are very helpful, friendly and accessible. Its a very nice community. The pool and beach are very clean.

The property is very private (the back yard).

Hope to come back in the future.
