Vacation Rental Description

Rustic house with high ceilings and great view of Baffin Bay.  A 
private 1,750 sq. ft. home that fronts Baffin Bay.  Lots of windows 
open to the bay and provide bay breezes and scenic views of Bay. 104 
feet of bayfront.  320 foot private pier with docking for boat up to 
l9 ft. long.  Small enclosure on pier protects from sun, wind and 
rain. Lights for night fishing. Sleeps 8; kitchen and 2 
bedrooms air-conditioned; living area, den and front sleeping area 
cooled by bay breezes.  Oak trees in back provide shade and bird 
watching. Overlooking Baffin Bay, a wooden swing provides a nifty 
place underneath an old mesquite tree to enjoy the bay breezes and 
the activies going on around you.  Birds filter in and out of this 
area.  

NO SMOKING/NO PETS inside house.

Recommended only for adults and/or older children that know how to 
fish and swim. Not appropriate for small children and non-swimmers 
due to proximity to Bay water and pier.  Parents assume all 
responsibility and liability for accompanying children.  The house 
is not fenced off from the bay.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Kitchen has stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, cooking 
utensils,toaster, coffee pot and dishes. Large table. 
Extra large living/den area has wicker furniture, swivel rockers, 
table & 
chairs, ping-pong table, indoor fireplace for winter nights, 4 
single 
beds by west end windows and window seats along the east windows for 
lounging or sleeping. There are approximately 14 extra large windows 
in this area and this is cooled by the almost constant bay breezes.

Each of the two AC bedrooms has one double bed and one single bed in 
each room. The large kitchen is also airconditioned. All rooms have 
ceiling fans. Linens furnished. Bring own personal supplies,as well 
as paper goods, etc. Window benches suitable for sleeping extra 
adults if needed.

Inside-outside patio chairs available. Outside lights in front, and 
in back of house.

Outdoor cooking:  large outdoor fireplace; portable Weber barbeque 
pit available. Large picnic table outside.

Phone available for emergencies, user pays for all long distance 
calls.

Activities and Attractions

Fishing, bird-watching, sailing, boating. On quiet mornings or 
evenings if wind lies down, excellent for kayaking around pier and 
along shoreline.

The birdwatching is excellent in this area.  In the back yard, we 
have large oak trees,a fruiting mulberry tree, citrus trees, 
mesquite 
trees and brush on our property that attracts wildlife.  Greenjays, 
Altimira and hooded orioles, caracaras, cardinals, mockingbirds, 
flickers,doves, etc. are common as well as some shore birds. At 
night 
pelicans, etc. glide through the lights on the pier. Within 3 miles 
are lots of shore birds such as roseatte spoonbills, pelicans, 
cormorants, etc. as they fish off a small inlet in outgoing and 
incoming tides at the Hubert/Kaufer Park area inbetween our bayhouse 
and Kings's Inn.

Drum, Redfish, and Trout are among fish being caught off our pier in 
Baffin Bay. Youngsters will enjoy bringing a cane pole and catching 
large perch and other small baitfish, etc. around the pier.

 Lots of wildlife around property.  Bobcats,rabbits, javelina, etc. 
are in brush close to the property. 
 
Excellent location for wade fishing.  Grassy muddy, silty bottom 
holds the fish in winter and provides food at other times.
 
Excellent spot for fishermen, birders and/or vacationers that want a 
quiet,out-of-the way spot for relaxation and  solitude.  About 2 1/2
hours to Mexico, about 1 1/2 hour to Corpus Christi Aquarium, and 
about 2 hours to Padre Island.  Three miles from famous King's Inn 
known for fresh seafood.  Very close to Krantz's Cafe and 
baitstand.  
Wonderful Mexican food available in 
Kingsville, Texas.

This house is not suitable for small children due to fishing pier 
and proximity to Bay. 

Vacation Rental Rates

$150 for one or two people per night; $50 per night for each 
additional person over two

Minimum rental is two nights or a total of $300

Example:  Two nights for 1 or 2 people or a party of six for one 
night would be $300

Rent for 7 nights and 7th night is free. Call 
for monthly rate or longer. No sub-letting allowed.

All guests must be registered.  Fishing privledges limited to 
registered guests. Fishing limits and sizes are strictly enforced.

Receipt of non-refundable deposit of $250 secures the rental. Until 
the receipt of the deposit, your reservation is not guaranteed. Full 
payment required 2 weeks before arrival date. 

Last minute rentals:   Without a minimum of two weeks notice from 
first arrival day, an extra fee of $50 will be required.  Overnight 
payment of $250 deposit required. Full payment required upon arrival.

RV hookups:  Water and electricity available for $50 per night 
along with rental of Bayhouse.  No dump site available.  Offered as 
a courtesy to friends of individuals renting the bayhouse.
