Vacation Rental Description

This house is a gem, for one person to two couples. Fabulous location:
1 minute walk to 
the mercado (where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, tortillas, cheeses,
as well as artesania in tin, cermamics, glass, fabrics) and a 7 minute 
walk to the absolute center of town (the jardin). Most restaurants are
within a 7 minute 
walk. No hills. (This is important to know before you rent a house in
SMA!) The house is  
bright and airy, cozy, comfortable and peaceful. Once inside you have the feeling of being in the 
countryside, due to the garden and the view. It is filled with good books and art, including a wall 
of
gold-leafed icons. All of the rooms 
look out at a spectacular verdant hillside or open out onto the
lovely garden. 

It is two stories high. The guestroom, which has a full-sized bed, a
desk, and its own 
bathroom with shower, are on the first floor, as is the shady, comfortable outdoor
patio. Upstairs in the 
main living area, there is a large open kitchen/ dining /livingroom
space with a half bath. 
The  master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and full bath adjoins it,
and down a short 
hallway is a book-lined office with plenty of desk space. The terrace
is accessed from both 
the master bedroom and the kitchen. It has a table and chairs at which
you may enjoy 
eating your meals or simply relaxing and watching the birds. This,
too, has sweeping 
views of a canyon, cacti, lots of sky. One  wall is virtually all
windows. There are ceiling 
fans for summer months, and space heaters for the winter 
months.

The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds and
pillows are comfy, and 
the linens all cotton.
 

Vacation Rental Amenities

There is:

WiFi throughout the house.

A Vonage phone, which gives you a U.S. phone number, and allows you to
make free calls 
to the States and Canada.

A cable TV with some American channels, and a DVD player.

Washer and Dryer

The kitchen comes with a blender, toaster oven, Kitchen Aid beater,
electric kettle, 
coffeemaker, good pots and pans and knives.
 
Lupe, a wonderful woman, cleans twice a week. 

Activities and Attractions

There is a lively arts scene with literary readings, gallery openings,
museums, lectures, 
plays, concerts, and music. Hot springs are nearby. There
is great hiking, 
mountain biking, golf, horseback riding, fantastic shopping, language
schools, salsa 
dancing, mariachis, and a nightlife that doesn't quit unitl near dawn.
You can also take day 
trips to the university, silver-mining town, Guanajuato; or the
historic colonial town of 
Queretero; as well as to the mecca of ceramics and birthplace of the revolution,
Delores Hidalgo.
