Wonderful Fall Weekend!

Fay (South Georgia)
Review submitted: October 29, 2012   Date of arrival: October 5, 2012

This was our second visit to Keowee Cottage and we enjoyed a wonderful long fall weekend! The location is great if you are attending a Clemson game (which some family members did), or hiking the great waterfall trails nearby (which some family members did) or visiting the quaint small towns nearby. The views of the mountains and the lake from the house were beautiful! Our grandson especially enjoyed canoeing on the lake...the weather was fantastic!!! The house is great for a family of six and has plenty on hand for entertaining everyone!!! David, the owner, was very easy to work with and eager to make our visit enjoyable! We look forward to another visit next year!

Absolutely Perfect

Review submitted: September 19, 2012   Date of arrival: September 8, 2012

We have stayed at various houses in Georgia and South Carolina but never went back a second time to any of them for various reasons. After staying at Keowee Cottage last week, we have now found the perfect vacation rental. I love that the master bedroom on the first floor and a second queen bedroom on the second floor both have screened porches with amazing views of the lake and the mountains. This is perfect when traveling with 2 couples or other groups where you would like 2 master suites. The entire house is decorated beautifully and tastefully, so if aesthetics are important to you - as they are to me- this is the home for you. The outside areas include an area with table with 4 chairs, another area has a propane grill, another area has 2 reclining chairs and the area on the top of the boat slip right on the water has 4 reclining chairs. The outside shower even has heated water! There were 2 canoes, a kayak and paddle boat available for use. The water was clear and warm. The second floor has 2 bedroom suites and then a very large family room with pool table, large flat screen tv and various board games. This would be perfect for a family with children. There is that great view through the french doors with the second floor screened in porch. I've wanted to go to Highland NC for years and was thrilled when I learned it was only 1.5 hours away.

Excellent home

carl (clearwater, fl)
Review submitted: July 30, 2012   Date of arrival: July 14, 2012

We were very pleased with the home and accommodations. This house was excellent for our family because the grandparents had their space on first floor and the children and grandchildren had their space upstairs with the game room and 2 bedrooms and bath for their use.

Got used to the long walk to the water but the stairs were situated so you could stop and keep going. The swimming was good and the various acitivities with the paddle boat and canoe.

Great place.
