beach and has everything you need for your relaxing vacation.
Located in Tawas City and nestled in a peaceful location on Lake Huron, the home features
2 large bedrooms, 1 bath, a living room, well appointed knotty pine kitchen and 2 enclosed porches with a daybed for extra sleeping quarters.
This house is beautiful and well maintained. Solitude on the Bay is on a quiet street in an
exclusive Lake Huron neighborhood with shopping and restaurants nearby.
It boasts being one of the best locations for a summer vacation.

Solitude on the Bay is located at South Bay Drive and boasts 100 feet of beach on Lake Huron in
Tawas City. You can sit on the completely enclosed lakeside porch and enjoy beautiful sunrises, curl
up with a great book or watch the freighters go by It is a 5-10 minute drive from East Tawas where
you will find wonderful shopping and restaurants, along with a Farmer's Market and many art fairs
throughout the year. An annual Blues festival rounds out the fun every August. There is a 5 mile
walking/biking trail within a 5 minute walk from the house.

Rates:
In-season rates: May - September Range from $850 to $950
per week (Saturday to Saturday). Inquire for off season rates. One-
half deposit is required at time of booking and the CANCELLATION is
60 days before arrival.

Thanks. We really enjoyed our stay at your place and LeAnn had a great time reconnecting with Sam. We are already planning to see if we can book another stay there next summer. In fact, if you get any last minute cancellations this summer, give us a call. We might be able to get away for a partial week if you were willing to do that.

Lovely cabin, extremely clean

Julie,

We completed the week and are now home. You have a lovely cabin, extremely clean and well maintained, and right on the water where we could hear the waves early in the morning. We fully enjoyed the wifi which is rare at most cottages but welcome to internet nuts like my wife and I. The washer and dryer were a welcome touch. We spoke with Sam next door who was welcoming and offered any support we needed. I was surprised at the poor cell phone signal in the area in general and not available at all at the cabin or on the point at the state park. Anyway, we wish you well in the future with your cabin.

Not what I expected!

This home was not what I expected after reviewing the reviews of this lake house. Upon arriving, the house was extremely dirty. The kitchen had black mold in the coffee pot, on the inside of refrigerator door where the vinyl striping that suctions to the refrig. The large cooking utensils were encrusted with food,oil drippings etc... The kitchen is not well stocked! A pitcher for making tea, lemonade etc... was no where to be found. A blender for frozen drinks was obsolete.
The bathroom shower head was as old as the house. It leaked from the base, my husband had to tighten it. The toliet leaned to one side, pink mold in the track of the shower doors and no toliet paper holder. Window sills were filthy, mind you the windows had to be opened. Washer and dryer are located in the master bedroom hidden by a fabric screen.

Beach was fair, grassy and seaweed. Raked every morning so kids could play. Walkway in need of replacement.

The worst part of the whole experience was we were the first renters to stay for the season! We left for 3 days and went to Mackinac Island!

When I rent something that cost this much money, I expect it to be slightly nicer than my home.
Now for the good news. Bed sheets were clean and fresh, master bed was very comfortable, spectacular view from back porch!

I am usually very easily pleased, but for a home to be dirty when you arrive is not acceptable, it should be dirty when you leave!

Owners response: This renter is extremely off base. First, she was NOT the first renter of the season. She called me early in the AM about the coffee pot, which I had my property manager address right then. According to my propoerty manager she asked the guest to show her where there was mold and she couldn't. In short, there was nothing wrong with the coffee pot but we replaced it with a new one anyway. I know for fact that after each guest our cleaning crew bleaches counters, the bathroom, the refridgerator,etc. If it rains, which it had steadily the week prior to their arrival, the beach will get weeds/grass and we rake it on a regular basis weather permitting. If this tenant had issues beyond the coffee pot they never called to let me know. This renter actually came back to the cottage after they had left and verbally attacked my cleaning crew when they arived to clean the cottage. Please do not believe what this renter has written. I will not tolerate someone defaming myself, attacking my help or blatently lying about our lovely cottage.
