Vacation Rental Description
One and a half hours north of Manhattan, close to New Paltz.
Extensively renovated Dutch Colonial ideal for ski, bike or hike
weekends or family gatherings. One of the few if not the only
original Speakeasy barrooms remaining in New York State is entered
from the rear on the ground floor. Upstairs there are six bedrooms
opening on large foyer with two very nice half baths and one full
bath with two other full baths downstairs. There is also a sitting
room and TV room each with its own stone fireplace and wooden
coffered ceilings, large utility
room with washer and dryer. Eighty feet of
porch, large paved parking lot, large screened in gazebo. Fifteen
(15) acres adjacent to extensive apple orchards and a pond bordering
a ten acre beaver impoundment. The setting for the international
best selling book – The Things I Want Most. Hosts the Winterberry
Writers Workshop Weekends for writers or those who wish to explore
the craft, e-mail or call for more information.
Vacation Rental Amenities
Kitchen has an electric range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee
maker, etc. There are plates, glasses (including barware,
silverware and cooking utensils and some amount of cookware,cable TV
(in the TV room only) and wireless Internet access. Maid service
available on request at a minmum rate of $62.50 per half day. A
bartender can also be supplied for parties in the barroom.
Activities and Attractions
Fabulous autumn scenary. Ideal for walkers or hikers, through the
adjacent orchards, on the nearby Rail trail or up at the nearly 75
miles of improved mountain paths in the Mohonk Preserve. New Paltz
in close by, so is Hyde Park, the Vanderbilt Mansion, the Culinary
Institute and many other attractions. Facility hosts the Winterberry
Workshop Weekend for writers every three months.
Vacation Rental Rates
One to three nights (a weekend) - $1552. Long holiday weekends one to five nights is $1752. A week
is $2250. Additional days are $250 per. Writers Workshop Weekends rates are quoted per room, call
for more information. Reserve with a (refundable up to 2 weeks from
reserved date) Credit Card charge (Visa or Mastercard) or check of
$250, there is a $150 cleaning fee if trash is not picked up and deposited
in outside containers and/or the property is not left broom
clean (we're not picky about this, just reasonable). Additional
small bedroom available on ground floor front adjacently to a full
bath for elderly or handicapped (please call and discuss)and there
is no additional fee if you have to use that room.
