For your Dream Vacation, my 1,050 sq. ft., 2 BR, 2BA, Direct Beach Front, Ground Floor, Corner Condo could be what you're looking for. With so many condos to choose from, this is my one chance to tell you what I think sets mine apart from the others.

There aren't many condos right on the beach, where you can swim or snorkel right in front. And there aren't many condos where you can sit on the lanai and watch Humpback Whales out in Maalaea Bay. A prior guest once told me "when I walked in and saw the view of the ocean from the living room, I was delighted. When I walked out to the lanai, the spectacular views of Maui's entire south coast, took my breath away. Every morning I sat and watched the sun come up over Haleakala. It was truly, an indescribable experience".

Our complex is one of only three in Maalaea that is right on a sandy beach. The other seven are on a rocky reef with no swimming. Almost half the complexes have coin $$ operated laundry rooms and parking lots far from the condos, forcing you to carry your bags quite a distance. Two buildings are right next to the busy Maalaea Harbor, with its traffic, noise and boat fumes.

The Kanai A Nalu is considered the best property in Maalaea. Free parking is provided just steps from our door and with the convenience of being on the ground floor, you have no stairs, or elevators to deal with. We have our own in-unit washer/dryer saving you time and money. There are beautiful tropical grounds, lush green lawns, 4 BBQ's, a lovely pool (one of the few that's heated), and a convenient beachside shower. We are located almost at the end of cul-de-sac, so there is very little traffic. It's very tranquil and quiet.

Our CORNER condo is not like an "interior" unit that shares two common walls. They have only one window in their master, and their second bedroom window  faces a busy walkway or parking lot. They must keep the blinds closed for privacy. My Beach Front Corner Condo has NO Neighbors on one side. It is quieter, more private and has incredible 180-degree views of Maui's So. Coast from the front corner, master bedroom's large wall-to-wall windows in both walls. Our second bedroom has views of the ocean, the lush tropical grounds, and the pool.

Also, our bedrooms ARE NOT "lofts", or the type that uses a flimsy sliding door or curtain to close them off from the living room. Those bedrooms offer no privacy. Ours are traditional, full size bedrooms with solid walls and locking doors. In the master is a $2,600 King size Select Comfort "Sleep Numbers" adjustable bed with dual remotes. You can adjust the softness or firmness of each side. This provides a wonderful nights sleep. Two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom with pillow-top mattresses can be pushed together to create another king. The bedrooms have lovely bedding, window blinds, cooling ceiling fans and Cable TV.

The condo has six fans total, and air conditioning to keep you cool. There is also a de-humidifer.   We have beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, beach towels.  There is a DVD player for the master, and a DVD player for the living room, and a flat screen TV.  I added  a safe for my guest's valuables, I also had the living room furniture reupholstered.  I try to go often to keep the condo updated and beautiful for my family and my guests.

Due to the previous owner being in a wheelchair, the doorways are wider and the master shower is larger than most. Also, the lanai is twice the normal size. He was given permission to enlarge it, to accommodate his wheelchair, plus tables and chairs. It extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our view even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With large groups of guests, everyone can be together. Our condo is wheelchair accessible, and handicap parking is right out our back door.

We have a full size kitchen with newer counter tops, a large stove, toaster oven, cookware, dishes, and appliances including a dishwasher, large stove, microwave, a large fridge with an ice-maker, a toaster, blender, coffee maker and our own in-unit washer and dryer.

The master bath has an over sized (wheelchair accessible), tiled shower with both wall-mounted, and hand held showerheads. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. They are accented with lovely nickel plated faucets, seashell themed art, decorator towels, rugs, and paint. Each has a wall-mounted "hotel quality" hair dryer.

What's near by:


About 1/4 mile away (almost within walking distance) is an area called the "Maalaea Village". There you will find seven great restaurants from casual to 4-Star, and most have ocean or harbor views. The harming "Harbor Shops" shopping complex. There is also the Maalaea Harbor where boats leave on snorkeling, dinner and sunset cruises. During winter they leave on hourly "Whale Watching" trips out in Maalaea Bay. Next to the Harbor is the renowned Maui Ocean Center, a world-class Hawaiian aquarium with a clear glass, walk through "under water tunnel" allowing you to view sharks, manta rays and beautiful tropical fish without getting wet. At the entrance to Maalaea is Carl's Jr. (for a fast meal), a 76 gas station, the Maui
Golf and Sports Park for guests of all ages. It features two fun and challenging miniature golf courses, a natural 4,000 sq. ft. lagoon with water falls, bumper boats, water blaster guns, rock climbing and an X-Treme Trampoline. We also have the Trade-Winds Mini Mart & Deli.


The drive from the Kahului airport is only 12 minutes on a modern four lane highway.

All Rates (USD):  2-4 Guests. Extra guest fee $10.  Minimum stay: 5 nights.  If we have 2 or 3 nights BETWEEN bookings we will rent them out.  7 night minimum for Thanksgiving and High Season.  14 nights for Christmas - New Years.

Hi Diane. My families stay at your condo June 16 - 26 2007 was awesome. It was great to show up and see that the condo and location was just as you described it. It was beautiful and comfortable. Eating our meals together on the lanai with the beautiful ocean view was great. I will definitely keep you in our address book for our return trip to Maui and recommend your condo to everyone. Ground floor is the best

I was lucky enough to spend 10 days here for a girls' getaway in January and fell in love with Maalaea. No crowds and a great community vibe. You can visit Kihei once for groceries and then live quite comfortably with daily walking ventures to the little Farmers' Market and the little store in the area. I loved it so much I came back again in April with my husband and teenage boys - sadly this condo was not available. We rented a place up the street on the 2nd floor and it was then that I realized that having the ground floor was well worth the extra cost.

First, this complex is friendly! Because of the layout, every afternoon is a social event if you want. We met some really nice people from all over the US and every afternoon we looked forward to getting home for 'happy hour' on the grass in front of the bbqs. The complex has great bbq's and lounge chairs that you can move around wherever you want on the grounds (the place we stayed in April kept the chairs only in the pool area). Every morning, my friend and I would sit out on the lanai and have our coffee and watch the sun rise over the volcano. For some reason, it is just better on the ground floor! It is nice to be able to walk right out into the view. Technically, the complex has 'beach access', but in reality the beach is very small and when the tide is up there is no beach at all. That is an important thing to know. The real beach is just a short walk down the street, or at low tide - down the beach.

The condo itself is decent. Diane was a great landord - we had a little issue with the slider and the on-island contact was not availabe and Diane made sure everything was taken care of. We appreicated that. The kitchen has everything you need and we appreciated that previous vacationer's ketchup, salad dressing, soy sauce, etc was in the fridge so we didn't have to restock just to cook. The decor and appliances are...'well loved', but comfortable. The Sleep Number bed in the master was interesting but I never could figure out what was firm and what was soft. Still, I slept like a baby every night.

We hesitated at first to rent the condo because the rates were a bit higher than other condos. It was worth it. I would come back again.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway

MY FAMILY STAYED AT THIS PROPERTY LATE MAY 2010. THE LISTING DESCRIPTION WAS VERY ACCURATE, PROPERTY WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. GREAT COMMUNICATION FROM THE OWNER AND THE ON SIGHT BUILDING SUPERVISOR.

GREAT LOCATION AWAY FROM THE MADDENING CROWDS, BUT CENTRAL TO ALL THE ATTRACTIONS OF THE ISLAND. IT ALWAYS FELT GOOD RETURNING TO THE CONDO AND THE SECLUSION OF THE LANAI (which is extra large)

THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP WAS HAVING THE EASY ACCESS TO THE BEACH AND BEING ABLE TO SWIM, AND/OR BODYSURF
IN FRONT OF THE LANAI AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO TAKE LONG WALKS ALONG THE BEACH.

THE BEACH BUM RESTAURANT IS A VERY NICE PLACE TO GET A GREAT MEAL AND TASTY DRINKS, SERVERS WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL WITH RECOMMENDATIONS. BEACH BUMS IS LOCATED IN THE MAALAEA VILLAGE COMPLEX

OVERALL, THIS CONDO PROVIDED US WITH EVERYTHING WE WISHED AND MORE! MY FAMILY INCLUDING 2 YOUNG ADULTS LOVED THIS PLACE.

THIS CONDO IS VERY SPECIAL
AND DIANE (the owner) HAS A JEWEL OF A PLACE.

HOPE TO RETURN VERY SOON FOR MORE REST AND RELAXATION
