Peach Beach Paradise in Don Pedro Island

Bring your family and enjoy the Florida beach "the way it used to be" on this quiet barrier island, accessible only by a 10-minute ferry ride from the mainland. This private townhouse, directly on the Gulf beach, was recently totally renovated and refurnished. Great for families, great for honeymoons, great place for a wedding on the beach! The large deck under the unit (chairs provided) lets you step right
off onto the wide, uncrowded beach. Inside there are new carpet and
ceramic tile floors. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes,
silverware, utensils, pots and pans and small appliances. Major
appliances�refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer and
dryer�are all new.

The laundry is next to the kitchen and the dining area is beyond.
The living room has satellite TV, DVD and CD players. Wide sliding
glass doors open to the screened lanai facing the beach. A unique
feature of this unit is the sliding glass doors on the outside of
the lanai that can be closed on chilly or rainy days.

All the bedding and linens are new. The master suite has a king-size
bed, adjoining full bath, satellite TV, and a private deck. There
are twin beds in the guest room, and a trundle bed (2 twins) under
the stairs in the living room.

A second full bath opens off the second floor hallway and a half
bath is on the main floor.

There are several ceiling fans in addition to central air
conditioning.

Off-street parking on a firm surface is provided directly in front
of the unit. A community-provided charcoal grill is close by.

The pool and tennis court in the complex are available at no charge.
Docks (also free) across the road on the lagoon allow boating access
to the intracoastal waterway for small craft. Fishing is available
from the docks or in the surf. Don Pedro State Park is a nice
walking distance down the beach.

Shelling is excellent and the wildlife includes gopher (and sometimes sea) turtles, dolphins, and many kinds of birds and waterfowl. In fact, if you are fishing, Horace, a very tame great blue heron, will often show up hoping
for discarded bait or fish.

Golf carts, the most popular means of transportation on the island,
are available for rental at several nearby places which will deliver
the cart to you on the island. Boats, kayaks, and jet skis can also
be rented nearby.

Rates for the ferry, which takes cars, start at $125 for a week's pass of 5 round trips. Other options are available as well as rates for pedestrians and golf carts. Owner may have some individual tickets available at cost ($30 each).

Note that the location on map is a bit south of the actual position; our unit is on the spit of land between the Gulf and Bocilla Lagoon.
