Aikane Kauai is completely outfitted with all the modern conveniences and one the few homes with air conditioned bedrooms. Aikane (pronounced eye-KAH-nay) is Hawaiian for 'friendly' or 'house sharing' which best describes this delightful beach house.

Enjoy the convenience of staying so close to several great sandy beaches. No need to drive, just walk out the front door past 2 houses to the ocean then along the coast past 3 more homes to the first of a string of beaches. Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach are the closest. Morning and sunset walks from the house along the coast are remarkable!

The house is outfitted with boogie boards, masks, snorkels, coolers, beach umbrellas & towels, complete kitchen, videos, games, DVD, VCR, CD, Kauai guide books, free WiFi broad band internet access and lots more. I hope you will feel right at home.

Aikane Kauai vacation home is located on the sunnier side of the island and is centrally located giving you quick access to several beaches in the neighborhood, beautiful coastal walks along the nearby wild Mahaluepu Coastline just east of the house, and shopping and dining nearby. The house is on a quiet side street. The nearby beaches offer great swimming and snorkeling even in the winter when the large surf that Hawaii is famous for rolls in to the north coast. The north shore is an hour to the east and north and remote beaches and spectacular vistas and hiking in Waimea Canyon and Kokee State
Park to the west and north in the opposite direction.

How sunny is Poipu? Hot water AND electricity are provided by the abundant sun. Utility back-up is seamless if required. There are very few homes on the island as earth friendly as this.

Aikane Kauai was specially designed to be a cool place to stay. The house has good cross ventilation and is fully insulated (walls, floors and ceilings). There are 6 ceiling fans, high ceilings and the picture windows and glass doors are double-glazed with thermal coatings. All 3 bedrooms have wall air conditioners.

Linens, cookware, utensils, snorkel gear, beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and sun umbrellas are provided. There is a complete kitchen with fridge, ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, range, blender, and washer/dryer. The home also has free high speed internet access (WiFi), a phone with answering machine, Sony flat screen Tv, 2 cable TVs, DVD, 2 VCRs, videos, stereo, and gas BBQ on the deck. Local calls are free. Covered parking is at your front door.

Families are welcome! There is a baby gate for the stairs, high chair, day crib, Disney video collection and games.

Bedding
Master bedroom: California king size bed. Bedroom #2: 2 twins OR convert to king. Bedroom #3: 2 twins OR convert to king. Family Room:Queen sofa sleeper.

For the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms we have special doublers consisting of a lambs wool center piece and sturdy strap that goes around the twin mattresses horizontally. This keeps everything snug making for a very comfortable king size bed and no one has gotten lost down the middle.

Restaurants, attractions and activities such as swimming, snorkeling, diving, golf, hiking, horseback riding, surfing and shopping are all close by. The beaches are great for just relaxing in the warm sun and enjoying Kauai's beautiful sunsets.

Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke's Beach are just a short level stroll away - walk out the front door past 2 homes and you're at the ocean.Walk along the coast past 3 more homes and you're at Brennecke's Beach and the eastern end of Poipu Beach Park. Poipu Beach is great for snorkeling and swimming and has grassy areas, playground equipment, lifeguard and pavilions. There is also a
protected little cove that's perfect for toddlers. Brennecke's is better for body surfing and boarding.

Rates are based on occupancy and length of stay:

RATES (3 night min.)
2 guests: $250/nt or $1750/wk
3 - 4 gst: $265/nt or $1850/wk
5 guests: $280/nt or $1950/wk
6 guests: $290/nt or $2000/wk
7th person stays free

Holiday Rate: Dec 20 to Jan 5: $2400/week, 2 week minimum.

Add Hawaii state tax (13.42%)

Policies:

Minimum Stay: 3 nights. Longer stays are highly recommended ;-)

Reservations: Send an e-mail to inquire about available dates. Courtesy reservations can be held for 2 days by your phone or e-mail request.

Deposit: A $250 refundable security/damage deposit is required to
confirm your reservations.

Occupancy: Limited to confirmed guests. Not sure about who's all coming? No problem. Your statement can be updated any time.

Payment: Requested 90 days prior to your arrival. Traveller's, personal and business checks, Visa, Mastercard and Paypal accepted.

Cancellations: Deposits and payments are fully refundable less a $50 cancellation fee if cancellation is made at least 90 days prior to your planned arrival. Cancellation notification of less than 90 days may result in forfeiture of the rent. There will be no forfeiture if I am able to re-rent to another party for the period affected by the cancellation. Trip insurance is recommended.

Check in 3pm / Check out 10am: Let me know if you need some flexibility on these times and I will accommodate if possible.

Keys: Kept in a lock box by the front door. The current combo will be sent with your payment confirmation.

Smoking: Outside only, please.

As is customary here, a cleaning fee is added ($150 or $195). With up to 4 in your group, your statement can be written the lower cleaning fee. The suite with the 3rd bedroom/3rd bathroom will be locked off but never rented to another party. This 2 bedroom/2 bath configuration has the living room, kitchen, dining area, views, lanai, bar-b-que, master suite with private bath and a second bedroom with king or 2 twin beds and a second full bath. This is usually ideal for groups of 2 to 4 but let me know if you’d like to use the whole house and I’ll be sure to leave the suite open. The cleaning fee will be adjusted to $195. This option is offered as a way to keep your costs as low as possible.
