* Great dolphin viewing --- virtually guaranteed on the north end of the island. Dolphin boat tours are always available, but sitting on the north beach is just as effective. We once watched a band of dolphins frolicking with a delighted kayaker.

* Impressive pier that extends way, way out into the water. Each end has a nice covered pavilion.

WHAT A SWEET DEAL

This is our 3rd visit to Tybee Island & have not been here in 17 years. Glad to get this condo for such a nice rate. So convienent to all locations.The owner has a fantastic deal lined up for you to rent bicycles (no hidden charges!) The owner is very nice and this place supplies everything you need to stay. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING.The laundry facilities are free which was great as my guys fished everyday- P-U!
We own two vacation rental homes and find this one to be fantastic-especially the pet friendly part- quiet & secluded-yet right near the hub of everything and a nice find for the price. The two bad reviews are typical for this type of business.The motivation for the review is usually to get free or discounted lodging...so sad!
Across the street is the best food around the Sundae Cafe. Find fantastic eating on your internet via YELP! STAY AWAY from the big named restaurants...there are lots of hidden gems here on the island to eat! Or cook your own food here- they have a grill and a fully stocked kitchen.The beach is sooooo close! I just love it here. The living room and dining room kitchen are small but who is hanging out here all day?? Plenty of room outside in courtyard, and upper deck and the bathroom and bedrooms are really roomy. This reminds me of the 80's in Key West before corporate America bought everything out and took out the ambiance!!! We will be back!! I hope someday to spend a month here-Loved it!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Leaves a lot to be desired

I was very excited about my trip to Tybee and stay at Keylime Cond after seeing such great pictures and working with owner. The owner was easy to work with and accommodating. However, upon arrival, the condo left a lot to be desired. The firsts noticeable disappointment was it is one bedroom and a loft with a bed and shower curtain for privacy, second the stairs to the loft are nothing short of a safety hazard. Any persons short of young and fit, will not not make it up these stairs safely. The hand raining is detaching and whole staircase is not sturdy. If you are lucky enough to make to the top , you will find that the railing designed to keep you safe is nothing more than looks. Not to mention the paper thin walls and the subjection to the neighbor's conversations...bring ear plugs.
Moving along to the main floor, where do I start? Maybe with the cinder block step to the main bedroom and yet another one in the bathroom. Watch your step when wet, barefoot, or in the dark. Mold, enough said. The furnishings are dilapidated and in need of replacement. This includes the linens... YUCK! I crawled into bed only to be welcomed with someone else's hairs. I could go on, but the point is made.

Overall, the location is convenient to activities located on the island and the access on and off the island is great. If the place were to undergo a renovation, this would be a perfect place to stay. I'm sorry to have to write a bad review as the booking experience and the owner were so pleasant.

Owners response: This review is puzzling. I don't know how anybody could look at our listing and not see the loft. A picture in our listing is a close-up of the curtain that draws across the railing for privacy. It is clearly a drapery, not a shower curtain. No cinder blocks are in this unit. The steps are solid stone aggregate. Since the cleaning service does not use hair nets, it's easy to see how a hair might get on the linens. If the guest had told me, I would have had the linens changed. Anyway, spare linens for all the beds are in the apartment. Sound insulation is in the wall between this unit and the one next door. However, loud noises from the unit next door and the neighborhood will penetrate. I have checked the spiral stairway and the loft railing. Both are quite sturdy and perfectly safe. This guest did indicate that she had some mobility issues. A king bedroom and bath are on the ground level. The loft bedroom is more appropriate for someone who climbs stairs well.

Great weekend stay!

We stayed here for the weekend for the Savannah half marathon and really enjoyed our stay! The weather was beautiful, so close to the beach! Easy to drive over to the lighthouse and down to the pier!
The place was clean, and looked just as the pictures show. Perfect overall for the three of us and the amount of time we were there! Thank you.
