Vacation Rental Description

The Cottage on Central Avenue is directly across the street from the 
Hoover Auditorium. This Victorian Home built in 1873 has belonged to 
me since 1990. It is decorated tastefully. The full front open porch is wonderful 
for morning coffee or afternoon lemonade. 
Inside is the main dining room, sitting area, den, 1/2 
bath and kitchen. The Kitchen is stocked with all necessary food 
preparation equipment for your cooking enjoyment. 
Upstairs are 4 bedrooms. #1 bedroom has a twin bed, #2 bedroom has 
two twin beds, #3 bedroom has a twin bed and #4 bedroom has a full 
bed. There is a full bathroom in the hall. The #4 bedroom has a full 
bathroom also. The backyard is small but accomodates our picnic table and 
grill. You must provide your own linens for the above beds and your 
own towels. There is parking at the street or in the shared 
driveway. The cottage is not air-conditioned, nor does it have 
television. When our children were small, if they said "it's so 
hot...we need air conditioning..." we'd tell them to go get in the 
lake.....also, we wanted our children to find out what it was like 
to be outside, finding friends and just "playing"...we allow no 
television, play-station, x-box....etc.....you'll love to see your 
kids having a different type of summer....Lakeside is very conducive 
to this type of summer for them. Lakeside is not your normal 
resort...it is for families, for spending time with your children 
and finding peace....

Vacation Rental Amenities

Lakeside, Ohio is a "Chautaugua" on Lake Erie. It was first 
developed in the later 1800's for women and teachers to come and 
learn how to teach Sunday School, to broaden the horizons of 
families and provide seminars with famous folks of the time. 
Rutherford B Hayes stayed on site at a nearby still standing and 
currently used hotel, 
Eleanor Roosevelt visited several times and lectured as did Norman 
Vincent Peale and wife. Today it is a haven for families to come and 
enjoy the treats of summer, still participating in seminars, 
lectures and the arts. 
The cottage is located 1 block from Lake Erie...within a comfortable 
walking distance. At the park is shuffleboard, miniature golf, golf 
cart rentals, shops, sailing lessons, boat renovation classes, art 
classes and live entertainment in the evenings at the Hoover 
Auditorium. August is the month for our very own Lakeside Symphony. 
Because we are right across the street from the entertainment hub, 
you will appreciate the symphony rehearsals in the morning with your 
coffee or with friends on the porch in the evening...this is an easy 
way to vacation with all of your family. the setting at lakeside is 
very close to how it was to grow up in the 50's....kids go in the 
morning to find own adventures and return for meals....set up 
appointments with parents to meet in the afternoon, and experience 
freedom as not found in our lives today. check into Lakeside 
Association, on line to find out more about this wonderful 
community...

Activities and Attractions

Within only several miles is Cedar Point, Kelley's Island, Put-in-
Bay, Catawba Island, Port Clinton, Milan and Sandusky. Boating, 
water sports, hiking, swimming, antique shops..an hour from toledo, 
an hour and half from cleveland.

Vacation Rental Rates

The Lakeside vacation season is 9 weeks beginning June 21 and ending labor day weekend. The cottage is not 
heated, but i can rent the cottage through the month of september and some weeks in october at a reduced 
rate.

Saturday 3:00 p.m. to Saturday 11:00 a.m. bookings @ $1200.00 per 
week
Labor Day Weekend from Friday 11:00 a.m. to Monday 
5:00p.m. @ $200.00 per day. Check in and depart times are negotiable.
