Vacation Rental Description

Take a 'Step back in time' when you vacation at Gram E's Sunset 
Pines Cottage. (Acadia Pines Chalet #D)

One of our guests recently mentioned that she felt like she was 
visiting her grandmother when she entered the cottage and saw the 
ironed table cloth, the flowers on the dining room table, the lace 
trimmed starched pillow cases on the bed pillows, the braided rugs, 
afghans on the rocking chairs, and the other old fashioned items. 
There are old books, puzzles, games, and plenty of 'curiosities' 
(antiques and memorabilia) tucked here and there. (Gram "E" even 
leaves a welcome basket with home baked yeast bread for her 'paying 
house guests').

This cottage is located at the end of a private road. It is perched 
on a hillside surrounded by large granite stones that enhance the 
natural landscaping. (Private elevated deck. Great sunsets!).

#D Sunset Pines is one of 2 Hall Quarry cottages that share 5 wooded 
acres near Echo Lake. Each cottage is privately sited on over 2 
acres near Acadia National Park. 

Acadia Pines Broker owned chalets are centrally located on Mt. 
Desert Island. They are near the National Park Beach on Echo Lake, 
also near Somes Sound, and less than 10 miles from Bar Harbor. The 
Bangor International airport is about an hour's drive from the 
cottage.

This chalet has an open living-dining room with a cathedral ceiling. 
There is a fully equipped kitchen with range, refrigerator, 
microwave, coffee maker, utensils, linens, phone (FREE local calls. 
Phone cards needed for toll service),Satellite 
TV/VCR/DVD.(Video/Books: Free lending library at epat's 
office). FREE internet access at the local libraries. First floor 
bedroom, fully enclosed with 2 double beds, full 
Bath. 2nd floor bedroom (not fully enclosed because of the cathedral 
ceiling) with 2 double beds. Living room sofa bed. Sleeps 4-6 . 
(Total: 4 double beds) 

Hot Air heat. Gas log fireplace. (Antique Parlor Stove)
Plenty of blankets for those cool Maine evenings.

Private deck, outdoor furniture.
No Smoking. Pets with Permission. 

Vacation Rental Amenities

#D Sunset Pines is centrally located on Mt.Desert Island, just 
minutes 
from the historic village of Somesville. It is a short drive to Bar 
Harbor. Grocery stores and laundromats are in the nearby villages.
FREE Island bus service nearby ("Island Explorer")

For convenient fresh water access, the Acadia National Park boat 
launch area on Echo Lake and the National Park beach are less than a 
mile away. 

The cottage offers wooded privacy and nice Westerly views.
Enjoy sunsets from the private deck. 

Free internet access available at the village libraries. (Also 
available: Bar Harbor Internet Cafe). Check with 'Redzone' wireless local internet service for 
special week rate.

Activities and Attractions

Some of the amenities and activities at the nearby historic village 
of Somesville include: The Museum, Book Store, Church, Antique shop, 
Post office, Bank, Convenience Store and Professional Offices.
 
The quaint Village Library offers free internet access and 
breathtaking views of Somes Sound.
 
Within 15 minutes of the cottage are most of the Island villages 
(Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor).

Acadia National Park,...hiking, biking, boating...and all the other 
amenities of the park are easily accessible.

Somes Meynell Wildlife Sanctuary on Somes Pond is near the village.
Canoe and kayak rentals, and a public beach are available on Long 
Pond (a short drive from the cottage).

Rental Rates: (Spring $700-$1100 Week) (Mid June/July/August $1100 
Week.) (Fall $900.Week). Pro-rated Daily off season.$150@ Day.When 
available (3 Day Minimum). State of Maine 7% Sales 
Tax applicable.  VISA/MC Credit Cards accepted.
