Historic Placerville: Historical "Hangtown" filled with shops,
dining, and ice cream parlors, is always hosting "street faire"
events. Below is a list of current upcoming events:
JUNE 30th, Bell Tower Brewfest, 6PM to 9PM. This popular Placerville
event will be hosted again by downtown merchants and will include a
street closure for added enjoyment and safety for all patrons.
Entertainment will be provided by a variety of live bands. Watching
the bands and enjoying the atmosphere on a warm summer night on Main
Street will be free, but if you are interested in sampling over 30
different micro-brews, tickets will need to be purchased for patrons
over 21 years of age. As in the past, tickets are limited and
expected to sellout before that evening, so plan on getting them
early. Tickets are limited and will go on sale in May for $25 at
River City Bank and The Winesmith in Placerville. Or, tickets can be
purchased by phone with a credit card for a small handling fee from
the Placerville Downtown Association. For more info on this big
fundraiser.
AUGUST 2nd – 5th , The Sierra Art AfFaire, Historic Downtown
Placerville. This new event is a four day artists’ retreat offering
many different classes (hosted by local merchants) and taught by
local and national artists and instructors. Some of the arts &
crafts mediums may include stamp art, beadwork, gourds, metal,
paper, clay and more.
AUGUST 12th, Craft Faire, 8AM - 3PM in Historic Downtown
Placerville. Main Street closes to host the 11th Annual Craft Faire
with over 100 artisans from all over the West featuring pottery,
woodwork, quilted and decorating items, dolls, garden items, soaps,
candles, jewelry, food, and much, much more. Admission and parking
are free. Sponsored by the Placerville Downtown Association.
SEPTEMBER 30th, Antique Street Faire - 8AM to 3PM in Historic
Downtown Placerville - The 19th Annual Antique Street Faire closes
Main Street to host over 100 antiques & collectibles peddlers for
this huge event. Food, refreshments, and more.Admission and parking
are free. Sponsored by the Placerville Downtown Association.
OCTOBER 20th, Art & Wine Festival, 6PM – 9PM. Over 35 foothill
wineries will offer samples of their wines inside merchant locations
on Historic Main Street in Placerville. In addition, the works of
over 100 local artists will be on display for this wonderful art &
wine walk.Music, art demonstrations & hors d’oeuvres, too. TICKETS
ARE LIMITED and will are available at The Winesmith, Tony Matthews
and River City Bank in Placerville, or by calling PDA. Sponsored by

OCTOBER 31st, Trick or Treat on Main Street, 4PM to 6PM in Historic
Downtown Placerville. Historic Main Street merchants will provide
goodies to trick-or-treaters (while supplies last) in a safe and
convenient environment. Sponsored by Historic Main Street merchants.
Other activities will include a costume contest and carnival and are
sponsored by Placerville Parks & Recreation, Placerville 20/30 Club
and Placerville Lions Club.
NOVEMBER 23rd, Festival of Lights, 5:30PM – 8PM on Historic Main
Street in Placerville. The old-fashioned festivities will close
Historic Main Street and begin around 5:30PM at various locations up
and down Main Street with music, entertainment, Santa, stagecoach
rides, Holly Jolly Trolley rides (to outlying parking lots), and the
tree-lighting at 6PM at the Courthouse. Sponsored by the Placerville

NOVEMBER 23rd & 24th, Merchants Open House, Extended Hours. Historic
Main Street merchants welcome visitors with coffee, cider and
seasonal goodies. Enjoy hometown holiday shopping and hospitality in
