Vacation Rental Description

Our Round Top Texas country guest house which is located in the 
heart of the golden Triangle of Houston, Austin and San Antonio, is 
a charming yet sophisticated  retreat known as The Silver Spur at 
Round Top.  The restored 1800’s traditional Texas Farmhouse is 
nestled amongst gorgeous 100+ year old live Oaks and Pecan trees. 
There are spectacular views with some pitch and roll offering the 
true beauty of this impressive countryside. Have fun watching the 
Longhorns graze, deer feeding at dawn and all the wonderful bird 
species that come our way. Located on a secluded country road, 5 
miles from Round Top, Texas town square, where you can enjoy unique 
shopping, antiques and first class dining that you would expect to 
find in the city.  You will also be within 5 miles of Festival Hill 
Symphony Hall and also the Winedale Shakespearian Festival Center. 

Enjoy the beauty of a clear Texas night before bed and a fresh cup 
of coffee or tea on one of the two large porches, complete with 
rockers, while you watch our magnificent Texas sunrises and sunsets 
to relax your body and soul.  Also take time to sit by the pool and 
the large stone fire pit, while sipping on your favorite beverage, 
or enjoy the handmade indigenous rock/stone large wood burning 
fireplace inside! 

Uniquely inviting, quiet and restful, the fully restored farmhouse 
offers luxurious comforts, with two private porches, with rockers, 
overlooking the rolling 50 acres.  The Silver Spur at Round Top is 
fast becoming the destination location for relaxing retreats, small 
country garden weddings & receptions, and of course tranquil 
romantic getaways.

The entire property, a little piece of heaven on earth, may be 
reserved for your private use with a two night minimum stay.

Vacation Rental Amenities

This early 1800’s fully restored farmhouse sits on 50 acres of 
rolling meadow with stunning views – only minutes away from Round 
Top town square, Warrenton and Fayette Lake. Original pine plank 
flooring, beaded woodwork and restoration glass windows along with 
the original “barn wood” that was found on the existing property 
which makes up much of the cabinetry work within the house 
compliments this early 18th century home while tastefully decorated 
with a Texas flare.

Silver Spur is a 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath with 2 Kings, 5 Twins and 
sleeps 9 people comfortably... and did we mention the professional 
Kitchen with 2 convection ovens, and stainless steel appliances any 
cook would love!

Cultural Arts

The International Festival Institute and Conference Center at 
Festival Hill - A year round cultural center presenting an 
internationally famous Festival of classical music, home of the 
Texas Festival Orchestra. The campus features extensive herb 
gardens, trails, historic buildings, special collections and a 1200 
seat air-conditioned Concert Hall. 

Round Top Children's Library - Round Top is the smallest town in 
Texas with a public library! The Round Top Library is now open six 
days a week, and serves patrons from all over Fayette, Austin, 
Colorado, Lee and Washington counties. It offers over 12,000 items 
available for checkout, eight free public access computers, and a 
full schedule of fine arts and other programs for both chidren and 
adults. The Round Top Library is home in the Sterling and Marianne 
McCall Library building, a beautifully restored 1920's gothic 
church. 

Shakespeare at Winedale - Celebrating its 25th year in 1995, this 
festival offers groundbreaking public performances of the plays of 
William Shakespeare each summer (July-August) and spring (last 
Friday and Saturday in April). The performances, recognized 
nationally as innovative theatre, occur in a restored log barn on 
the campus of the Winedale Historical Institute. 

Winedale Historical Center - This University of Texas center is 
dedicated to the perservation and interpretation of 19th century 
German Texas culture. The property, which holds many restored 
buildings, also serves as a conference center for seminars and 
educational symposia and as a site for arts and crafts festivals and 
performances of German and other folk music from early Texas.

Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation - Henkel Square is a museum village 
that serves as a center for the research and preservation of German 
Texas culture, its architecture and decorative arts. The museum is 
open daily from 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM. Just off the town square, 
Henkle Square offers tours of restored pioneer German architecture 
and furnishings.

Come visit the new Bybee Square of galleries, retail establishments, 
dine at our restaurants and drink wine by the glass or bottle at the 
Wine Shop. Pasquale’s Restaurant has reopened in the same location 
on the Village Green.

Antique Shows in April & October
          Twice a year, the surrounding countryside becomes an 
antiquer’s paradise. A broad collection of independent show 
promoters and local entrepreneurs provide space for more than 2,000 
antique, collectible and craft vendors and dealers throughout our 
immediate area.  Altogether there's more than 300 acres used for the 
great Antique Weekend events! 

Festival Hill –Round Top
          Founded in 1972 by world-renowned concert pianist James 
Dick, the International Festival-Institute at Round Top has 
developed superb year round education and performance programs. The 
project is now an internationally acclaimed European-styled music 
institute for aspiring young musicians and distinguished faculty.   
It has also created a unique 200-acre campus containing major 
performance facilities, historic houses, extensive gardens, parks 
and nature preserves.

          Visit this collection of early Texas pioneer homes run by 
the Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation.

Shakespeare at Winedale – outside Round Top
          Attend summer performances of Shakespearean plays.  
Shakespeare at Winedale is housed in the Texas countryside, at the 
University of Texas Winedale Historical Center. Students perform in 
a century-old German hay barn that has been converted into an 
Elizabethan-style theatre. 

Sterling McCall Old Car Museum - Warrenton
          Featuring 130 old cars ranging in age from 1908 to 1967.

Jersey Barnyard – outside La Grange
          Visit with the Frerichs and learn what farming and 
agriculture are all about.  Relax on the porch, pet the animals, 
take a hay ride tour of their working diary farm and sample their 
own cheese.

The Bugle Boy - La Grange
The Bugle Boy is Fayette County 's original espresso bar and takes 
its name from the Andrews Sisters' 1940's hit "Boogie Woogie Bugle 
Boy" and celebrates a WW I I swing theme.  The Bugle Boy not only 
offers great coffees, espresso, fine wine and beer, but is also 
known for it’s high quality entertainment. 

Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery – La Grange
          On a breathtaking bluff overlooking the Colorado River, 
Monument Hill is a memorial to Republic of Texas martyrs. Tours of 
the Kreische Family Home and Brewery give a glimpse into early Texas 
life. 

Historic Fayetteville
          Stroll & shop around the historic square, tour the 
restored courthouse with Seth Thomas clock & visit the Fayetteville 
Area Heritage Museum .

perennials, herbs and native flora. The site contains herb gardens, 
cottage gardens and many perennial borders.  Plants and gift related 
items are offered for sale. 

Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park – north of Brenham
          Visit the place where the Texas Declaration of 
Independence was signed, relive history at the Barrington Living 
History Farm, and visit the new Star of the Republic Museum.

325.00 Plus 6% tax per night up to 6; $30 a person thereafter up to 
8. 
Special Rates apply during Antique week in April & October, 
Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving weeks. 
Three (3) night minimum stay required during Holidays. 
10% Discounts available weekdays, from Monday night to Wednesday 
night, not including holidays. 
10% Discount available on weekly rentals and during winter months 
Significant damage to property or items missing from the property 
may result in a loss of all or part of the deposit. Additional 
guests staying without the consent or knowledge of the owners may 
result in the forfeiture of the deposit. 
Pets will have to be cleared with the owner before occupying the 
home. 
There is a phone at The Silver Spur. We'll provide you with the 
number once reservation is made so family and friends can contact 
you. 
Courier and concierge services may be arranged for pick-up of 
groceries, videos, dry cleaning and pharmaceuticals. Through our 
housekeeper Maxine. 
Payment: We require a 50% deposit, due at time of booking to confirm 
your dates. We take VISA, MasterCard, Discover (NO personal checks). 
We'll then charge this same card for the rest of your payment the 
week of your stay at The Silver Spur at Round Top.
