Sitting on a wooded 2 acre lot at the tip of the Coffins Neck
Peninsula, our cottage offers over 200 feet of private, unspoiled
rocky shoreline.
This isolated, undiscovered seaside wonderland will be your most
relaxing and memorable vacation. Be the first person in the country
to see the morning sunrise, while enjoying spectacular views and
peaceful sounds of nothing and nature around you.
Just kick back and enjoy this beautiful quiet setting.
There are no tourist traps – the nearest traffic light is 60 miles
away; yet all conveniences are just minutes away.
We welcome well behaved dogs and their families.
This is a NON-SMOKING property..
cottage rental amenities
The cottage sleeps up to 5 people in 2 bedrooms with a full bed in
one room and bunk beds in another. The bottom of the bunk is a full
size bed; the top is a twin.
The kitchen is well stocked with a coffee maker, pots and pans, a
variety of cooking utensils, as well as everything that you need for
those great Maine lobsters. There is also a full oven, microwave,
toaster big enough for bagels, and a full size refrigerator with
freezer.
Sheets and towels are provided and we have plenty of pillows and
blankets for snuggling on those cooler nights.
We also provide satellite TV, a DVD player with a nice selection of
movies, and a collection of paperback books.
There is no telephone at the cottage but we find that cell phone service
is reasonably consistent.
Outdoors you can eat at the picnic table or relax and enjoy the view
on wooden Adirondack chairs. There is also a gas grill. Water is from a private well.
activities and attractions in Lubec Maine
Lubec has several sandy beaches, bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain
forest, wildflower meadows, and peat bogs. Lubec’s West Quoddy Head
Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the
country.
There are miles of bold, coastal hiking trails to explore. Local
whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the chance to observe nature
up close, or you can explore both salt and fresh water spots by kayak
or canoe. You can golf, visit three state parks in the area, swim in
freshwater lakes, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend
concerts, and visit local festivals.
If you want to venture just a short distance from the cottage, you'll
find world class birding at Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge and
the Lubec Sand Bar Nature Preserve. President Franklin Roosevelt's
beloved summer home on Campobello Island is open to visitors, as are
several other historic homes in nearby villages. You can also visit
the site of the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War and learn
about Maine's own "Cannery Row" which once lined the waterfronts of
the Down East coast with sardine canneries and smokehouses.
You'll find it all here - rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant
wildlife, and friendly people.
