Group Comfort!

Review submitted: July 13, 2013   Date of arrival: June 15, 2013

A group of 5 women: plein air artist friends, rented this house for a week of painting along the North Shore.
The location of this wonderful house was conveniently located to Ipswich, Rockport, Gloucester and Newberryport.
We found many well-maintained land Reservations, nearby and open to the public, which gave us easy access to the area Marshes and beaches, where we painted happily in the early mornings. With cameras in hand, we also enjoyed many a Marsh sunset.
This house proved to be very comfortable for a unrelated group of women who each wanted their own bedroom, and it suited our needs perfectly. Each evening a different member of the group prepared and served dinner it to the rest of us in the spacious dining room.
Jill is most kind and yes, generous in seeing that we enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless; the kitchen and appliances all that we could ask for. There was plenty of parking for the several cars we arrived in. This house near the Great Marsh was a painter’s and photographers paradise! We would love to go back there again another year.

A wonderful retreat!

Review submitted: July 3, 2013   Date of arrival: July 6, 2012

I rented this house from Jill last summer and I immediately fell in love with all Ipswich has to offer. The house is minimally, but tastefully furnished and filled with art... it is a lovely, bright, airy place to stay. It was so easy to feel at home there. Jill is a wonderful hostess and the house is just an easy place to be with all the amenities you need to cook or do a load of laundry after the beach.

Because I live not too far away in the Boston area, I was able to invite friends to come in for a night or two and my elderly dad came for a few nights too. Everyone love the place. Jill even welcomed my lab, Sadie!

Ipswich has fantastic attractions, beaches, historical sites, nature and activities for young and old... highlights for us were a quick trip into Salem (be aware the musueum is NOT open on Mondays), a visit to the Crane estate and Russell orchards for ice cream! Morning walks on nearby Pavilion Beach became a daily ritual for me.

Frankly, I can't recommend this rental highly enough. I'm going back this summer for another week and can't wait!

From the minute we contacted Jill she was amazing. The property was perfect in every way. The views of the surrounding area were absolutely beautiful. We felt like we were right at home. It is a truly wonderful place to take your family and it was so close to everything. My family loved every minute of staying there and are already wanting to plan next year.
