Casa Walker in Merida

Casa Walker is a beautiful, 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom colonial townhouse in the Santiago neighborhood of Merida, Yucatan. The safest neighborhood in Merida. Completely furnished with period and art deco furniture, unique lighting and ceiling fans in every room. A newly renovated patio area, with a 14 foot X 6 foot cooling plunge pool and fountain.
This artist owned home has original tile floors, 18 foot ceilings in main part of the house, beautiful iron work, screens on every window, etc. The master bedroom has platform style king sized bed. The master bedroom also has private patio with outdoor shower, dressing room, and private bathroom. Sheets, complete set of towels, pillows, and hammocks are all provided. The guest bedroom has 2 matrimonial (double) beds, hammock, and private, full bathroom. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, 6 burner stove, toaster oven, an antique glass door hutch with complete set of dishes, rustic farm table, cabinets and shelves. (all cooking utensils, flatware also included) The kitchen opens into a 700 sq. ft. outdoor patio with a hand made marble from a local quarry was used to make outdoor dining table with Italian cafe chairs.  There is air conditioning througout the house so the summer months are more easily tolerated.

The house is complete, a 42 inch flat screen TV in the media room, a 20 inch TV(basic cable TV included in the master bedroom. We have high speed, wireless internet available is included, so bring your laptop, and have access to internet radio, Skype, etc.

A Whirlpool washing machine is in the bodega/storage room off the back patio for your use.  Or, take your laundry to the laundry service 1/2 block away, 6 lbs for $2.00, in by 9:00AM, ready at 4:OOPM, everyday but Sunday.

Buy fresh fish in the market, and use our Char-Broil outdoor grill in the patio. Incredible outdoor shower off the  private bedroom patio, and an awesome rooftop patio. The rooftop patio is perfect for watching a tropical sunset, and is accessed by a
wrought iron spiral staircase off of the guest bedroom.
Internet cafe (have fresh squeezed OJ while checking your e-mail) on Calle 72, 1/2 block from house. Maid service is available, ask our English speaking property manager..

Casa Walker is 5 minutes from Santiago Park, where you can enjoy
salsa music every Tuesday night. It is a 10 minute walk to Paseo
Montejo, or to the Zocalo (Plaza Grande). No need for a car, the
bus to the central market stops on the corner next to the house.
Walk 3 blocks and take a bus for $1.25 to the beach in Progreso.

Our property manager can arrange Spanish lessons (in or out of the house), or just about anything else you might need in Merida.  She is a native English speaker, and has lived in the Merida for several years, so knows the ins and outs of the area.
