Beachfront Bungalow on Gulf of Mexico in Anna Maria Island

Exceeded expectations for our romantic getaway

We arrived at the property late Sunday Evening and let ourselves into the room. Our inital impression was very favorable. In a nutshell the property was very clean, quaint, and comfortable. The room was updated & decorated very nicely with appropriate beach/pelican/mermaid motif. Furnishings were comfortable and clean. Bed slept wonderfully, pillows were perfect. Kitchen and bathroom fixtures were all really nice. No leaks, jiggles, slow drains or other common aggravations. Shower head was simple, but great with fantastic water pressure. We slept most nights with the sliding door open with the curtains blowing in from the gulf breeze and the waves rolling in the background- fantastic, perfect. If we're going to be very picky, the only things that weren't in perfect working condition were on the front door. The first was the latch. As we would close the door, it didn't always "catch" and latch closed the first time. We just got into the habit of closing the door, then pulling on it firmly to make sure it was latched/locked. Also, the door stop at the bottom would swing down too easily and we constantly found ourselves having to raise it with the toe of our shoe in order to close the door. Both were very small issues easily overcame and could be easily repaired. The exterior of the property was similarly updated and well maintained. We never got in the pool, but it was sparkling clean and warm. The rear gate opened directly to the white sandy beach with lounge chairs available to bring to the beach just as described and in pictures. We spent tons of time laying out or walking the beach. As for the Island itself, it had much more the feel of an old beach town than a megadeveloped resort island; very, very nice. We rented scooters one afternoon and just cruised the island from top to bottom and that's when we really fell in love with it. We ate at a different restaurant every meal and there was no shortage of excellent Breakfast/Brunch diners and seafood places for dinner. We would come back to this very rental on this island in a heartbeat. It really was as good or better than advertised, period. The dealings with the owner were very pleasant & easy. Not having a balcony to sit out on was not a problem at all, we just scooted a couple chairs right in front of the slider opening out to the Gulf and drank our coffee right there. We would highly recommend this property and thank the owner for a wonderful property & experience.
