activities and attractions in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Pacific Coast

Whether you’re up for lazy days or “not so” lazy days, you’ll find
it's your choice at Casa Baku. Take a 5 minute stroll down the
beach to one of the local palapa restaurants for an ice cold
cerverza (beer) and “huachinango entero” (grilled whole red snapper)
or through the village to get your favorite homemade ice cream.
Visit the local Wednesday tiangi’s (markets), pick out your fresh
catch of the day at the “Pescaderia” (fish market), listen to an
evening of live music talent, dine out at one of the local
restaurants (Black Forest, Caledonia, Jardin del Pulpo, La Cruz’s
infamous Street Taco’s, more), visit the art galleries featuring
Mexican or Huichol hand-crafted art (local native Indians), or join
yoga or Spanish classes twice a week at Philo’s Music Studio and
Community Center. Swimming, beachcombing, snorkeling and sunbathing
are, of course, popular activities as well. And then, of course,
there is the favorite sport of simply “doing nothing” with the
exception of curling up in a cool cozy spot with your favorite
libation and merely soaking up the beauty and tranquility
surrounding you.

Nearby Puerto Vallarta offers world class shopping, first class
dining, Mexican fiestas, mariachis, numerous art galleries featuring
famous Mexican artists and more. Or head out to the northern tip of
the Bay to Punta de Mita for a delightful day on the beaches sitting
under palapas, where the shopping comes to you. You can find almost
every Mexican craft available there - hand-woven blankets, jewelry,
hand-crafted wood objects, talavera bowls and platters, leather
goods, etc. Or enjoy a romantic evening at one of our favorite
restaurants, El Dorado, where food is outstanding, service is
remarkable, and sunsets are exceptional.

The whole Bay area is steeped with opportunities for snorkeling,
fishing, whale watching, sailing, swimming with dolphins,
parasailing, scuba diving, eco-tours, jungle adventures, kayaking,
boogie boarding, jungle adventures, horseback riding, golfing at six
different courses, hot springs and more. The list seems to be
endless.

After returning from a day of adventuring, Casa Baku offers you
awesome views, privates spaces and cool breezes to caress you as the
sounds of gentle waves lull you off to dreamland. So whether you’re
fancy is watching the sunrises paint the skies glorious colors,
soaking up the sun, lingering over conversations with candles
glowing in the night or simply gazing at the twinkling stars, we‘re
sure you‘ll be soothed by the tranquility and serenity of Casa
Baku.
