Sit on oceanside deck and enjoy ocean views or relax on bedroom-side deck and enjoy views of beautiful Carolina Beach Lake and walking trail. Visit Saturday morning Farmers' Market and weekend movie at the Lake Park. Or rent a paddle boat or canoe and take a "cruise" on the lake.  Also visit newly refurbished Carolina Beach boardwalk and try Britt's donuts, a melt-in-your-mouth tradition. Nearby is the NC Aquarium and Fort Fisher, a Civil War site and museum.  Also nearby is the historic port city of Wilmington, NC, with unique shopping and dining: Stroll the River Walk or tour the historic area by carriage ride, river cruise, or trolley ride.

The historic Civil War site of Fort Fisher and the popular North Carolina Aquarium, with its displays of fish and marine life, are also close by.   

Nearby is historic Wilmington and the Riverwalk district, with its unique shops and restaurants. Wilmington is a thriving port city that mixes old and new.  It is also the site of the USS North Carolina (restored World War II Battleship) and Screengem movie studio, where "One Tree Hill" is filmed.
