Pura Vida lived

Jackson (Orleans, Ma)
Review submitted: May 26, 2011   Date of arrival: February 1, 2011

Our overall experience was wonderful. Your descriptions of places to go, see and experience was right on. We particulary enjoyed Rincon and the Zip line at pura adventura.
Local area restaurants are good and very reasonably priced. Mary's, Villa Serena and Villa - my mind went blank but it's just across the road from Mary's. You highly recommended it and I concur - we went there a couple of times. Burgers at the beach bar at sunset aren't bad either.

As far as the house is concerned, it exceeded our expectations. Liset was very attentive and kept it clean which is a real task with the dust that blows during the dry season. Eduardo stayed after the property as well. We particularly enjoyed the view from the upstairs deck - accompanied by a good glass of wine of course. Some of the kitchen pans were a little beat up but that happens with a rental. Besides, I'm kind of a nut when it comes to cooking.

I would have no reservations about recommending your house to anyone. It provided serious comfort while we were vacationing in paradise.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed my paradise. Pura Vida I replaced the pans--sorry I was tardy Chef..

A true vacation home

G (Columbia, SC)
Review submitted: January 13, 2011   Date of arrival: March 7, 2010

This house is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vacation home in the area. A couple of things that I liked the most would be:

1} How spacious and open the house felt. We had 6-7 people staying there and space was never an issue.

2) The wrap around deck outside. Whether enjoying a book on the large deck chairs or lounging in the hammock, the deck area provided a great place for us to just hang out and take in the view.

3) The house overall. The house's design gave off a sense of authenticity and practicality. I thought the vents/windows above the living room were quite useful and provided just the right amount of airflow to keep it comfortable within the house.

In all honesty I could not say anything negative about this house. I am extremely pleased I was able to experience Playa Junquillal and I couldn't think of a better place to stay while doing so.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thanks for kind words. Hope to see you again soon.

Paradise in Guanacaste

Julia (Chicago, Illinois)
Review submitted: January 11, 2011   Date of arrival: March 13, 2009

The house is absolutely incredible, with plenty of space for a big family or a group of friends. The kitchen has everything a great cook needs, and while the bathrooms are nice, everyone fought for the outdoor shower. We went with a group of friends for Spring Break. Our days consisted of waking up early with the howler monkeys, taking a bike to the mini super-mercado up the road to get fresh produce, then walking the short distance to one of two beaches in the area. We'd all meet up again for lunch, then take naps on the porch (the lucky ones score the hammock). We'd usually go exploring after that, taking the canoe out into the nearby fresh waterway, or going to the bar on one of the nearby beaches. There are restaurants and great surfing spots not too far from the house, too. The house is secluded enough to be a great getaway, but is close enough to attractions and town that a group of young people will have a blast too. Check it out!
