The Christmas Cottage on the beautiful Connecticut River in Springfield

The Christmas Cottage is located just three miles off Interstate 91
at Vermont Exit 7 on a 70-acre Christmas tree farm. It is nestled in
the Connecticut River valley between the river and the Skitchewaug
Mountain. It is in a very private and quiet location on the farm
with beautiful views of the valley from a large front porch. Despite
it's peaceful setting there are two good sized towns within twenty
minutes with restaurants, shopping, movies and nightclubs.

Our private dock is within a few hundred feet of the Cottage. We
provide a canoe, a rowboat and several tubes for fishing and
frolicking on the river.

For those of you who might prefer not to swim with the fishes, we
have a large in ground pool which we usually open in late June.
Before then, in Vermont, only the beavers and bears do any swimming.

There is very little traffic on the river road and only slightly
more on nearby Route 5, so cycling is safe for young and old. We
have an assortment of elderly bicycles you can use if you choose not
to bring your own. Excellent hiking is available almost at your door.

The Springfield village center is about 5 miles from the farm and
has a hospital, several banks, restaurants, a theater and many
shops. The farm is within easy reach of Hanover, NH, the home of
Dartmouth College, where cultural activities take place throughout
the year. There are two convenient golf courses. Nearby ski areas,
Okemo, Ascutney, Magic, Stratton, Bromley, Sunapee, Suicide Six and
Killington are all within an hour's drive. Other activities at the
farm or within a short distance include hiking, hunting, fishing,
horseback riding and cycling.
