This charming home, nestled behind a stone wall on a quiet lane in Northeast Harbor, is located only a short walk (a couple of blocks) to the village. The sunny home is filled with hardwood floors and and original woodwork that add to its character and appeal.
The low stone wall surrounds the front yard and cobblestone patio. Day lilies and lilac trees lend color in every season. There is off street parking for two vehicles.
This is a great place for a quiet holiday when you want to get away and just relax or it is also a great home to use as your base as you discover the beauty and activities of Mount Desert.

First floor: Sun porch with a day bed, a small entry porch, galley kitchen, living
room and separate dining room, bathroom with shower, a small computer nook with a window seat or bunk suitable for overnight extra company.
Kitchen is fully equipped. New dishwasher in 2011! Gas range, microwave, coffee pot, blender, lobster pot and utensils.
Second floor: Main bedroom with a king bed and sitting area,
bedroom with queen bed and bedroom with a double bed. Upstairs bathroom has tub only.
Basement: Washer and dryer.

You 'll find the house is stocked with puzzles, books, maps, local information, trail maps.

Note: cell phone reception is sketchy around Mt. Desert Island, so if you lose reception, just wait, you'll get it again over the next hill.

Mount Desert Island is dotted with cozy harbors filled with
working lobster boats, cruising boats and racing one designs. These
are the cruising grounds of your dreams. The island is a place for
those adventurous at heart or for those who just want to relax and
enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It's the place to put your feet up,
read a book and enjoy the fresh, clean air.
Charter a boat for a day or a week. Charter an afternoon on a
Friendship Sloop. Take the mailboat to the Cranberry Islands or
Islesford for a picnic or a day of beachcombing and biking. Take a
nature cruise and spot a harbor seal, osprey and herring gull or
maybe an eagle. Sail the sunset on a schooner or take a ride up the
fjord, Somes Sound.
Catch the free Island Explorer bus for access to many places
around the island such as the Bass Harbor Lighthouse and quaint small
villages with harbors filled with working lobster boats. Rent kayaks
and canoes to explore nearby lakes, harbors and the ocean. The island
boasts hundreds of miles of carriage trails and hiking trails for all
levels of experience.
Shop in any of the charming shops, art galleries, bookstores and
boutiques in the area. Try a cup of lobster stew, clam chowder, the specialty popovers and a fabulous Maine
lobster in the local restaurants that offer both casual and fine
dining.
Enjoy the galleries, shops, microbreweries, live
music and night life in popular nearby Bar Harbor. Whale watching
cruises and the boat to Nova Scotia, Canada, leave from Bar Harbor.
We are surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful Acadia National
Park that winds its way in and around throughout Mount Desert
Island. From the house you are only 15 to 20 minutes to begin a trip
up Cadillac Mountain or 5 minutes to a carriage trail entrance.
Explore the island trails from the shore paths, up mountains and
through forests. A panorama of the ocean, the forests, harbors and the rugged Maine coast greets you
at every turn.
