vacation rental description
On a quiet street in Santa Barbara's best downtown residential neighborhood - The Upper Eastside - this charming guesthouse is in the perfect location: 4 blocks to State Street where you'll find shops, restaurants, cinemas, museums and 4 blocks to the historic Mission with its lovely Rose Garden. Gorgeous Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden, a Santa Barbara gem, is a 5-minute walk from your door. The beaches, Stearn's Wharf and Harbor are all close by. Public transportation is one block away.
Our guesthouse suite is a classic 1924 California cottage entirely transformed with contemporary amenities yet retaining its authentic original design with wainscoting in all rooms and a beamed ceiling in the bedroom.
THE BEDROOM with its beautiful hardwood parquet floor, Simmons pillow-top queen bed, cozy armchair and French doors opens onto a LARGE COVERED PORCH filled with plants, a comfortable upholstered couch and a water garden. It's a wonderful spot to relax with a book and your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
THE KITCHEN is a separate room, cheerful and bright with three large windows. It has been newly painted and professionally designed with custom glass and ceramic tile, stainless sink and refrigerator, filtered water and is fully-equipped with a cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and all the cookware, utensils, glasses and dinnerware that you'll need.
THE BATHROOM has been completely remodeled. It has a tub with shower, a large 3-sided mirrored vanity with drawers and plenty of shelf space. Its large window overlooks a charming succulent garden.
THE PRIVATE ENTRANCE has a small DECK with a café table and chairs and is adjacent to the kitchen.
You won't hear the hum of the freeway or noise from downtown trains. This exceptional guesthouse with its location, elegance and serenity is an incomparable best value in Santa Barbara.
Please note that this guesthouse is available for a 4 DAY MINIMUM rental and is for one or two persons. It is not child-proofed and may not be suitable for young children. No smoking or pets, please. Thank you.
