Heron House is a place for families to gather for fun and relaxation.
Living room on first floor: Cable TV/DVD/VCR, CD player,
stereo, books, games, puzzles, ample seating, lagoon view
Dining room on first floor opens to deck
Bedrooms: 5 (3 open to deck) -- Sleep 10.
First floor bedroom -- King, off living room, opens to deck,
bathroom has bathtub with shower
Bedroom 1: Queen, 2nd floor, back of house, sound view, opens
to deck, private bath with shower
Bedroom 2: Two twins, 2nd floor, private bath with tub w/shower,
front of house, view of ocean

Bathrooms: 5.5 -- half bath downstairs; each bedroom has a private, connected bathroom

blender, food processor, waffle iron, etc), dishwasher,
refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, roaster/toaster
Laundry-room/pantry off the kitchen

and a lower deck for sitting in deck chairs and bird-watching or
dining at the picnic table (additional small picnic table for little
ones).

The comforts of home, the serenity of salt marshes, a quiet lagoon
and gentle breezes all welcome you to Heron House. We invite
you to kick back, unwind, and create some great memories.
The sound side of the island is a softer, gentler part of the beach.
From your chair on the back deck of Heron House, you can follow
herons and egrets stepping along the shore, fish skipping across the
water, ospreys and pelicans diving for dinner. You can listen to
breezes rustling through the trees, birds calling to each other,
water lapping against docks. You can marvel at spectacular sunsets.
Or you can mosey down to the dock and drop in a fishing line or crab
pot -- or if you're really good and really patient, at low tide, you
can crab with a line, a chicken back, and a net. Or you can launch a
Heron House boat.
You can rock or swing on the front porch, picnic on the lower deck,
or go to the upper deck to sun or enjoy a panoramic view of the
lagoon, Permuda Island, and the waterway. Or you can soak up the
beautiful views from inside, as you gaze out the expansive windows.
When you walk through the front door into the living room, you feel
you can almost reach out and touch the water.
There are TVs/VCRs/DVDs, video library, stereo, games, books, and
toys that will entertain on a lazy indoor day or in the evening.
When you wander over to the beach, it's only a three to four minute
walk because the island is so narrow here. Look for sharks' teeth,
which are not found at most beaches, but are plentiful on Topsail.
There are a community pool and tennis courts, 3-6 minute walk. Also,
there's one golf course after another between here and Wilmington,
and a first-rate course, North Shore, about a 5-minute drive north,
just off the island. And there are the water sports, with rentals
available on the island for all sorts of equipment.
This is a happy house, filled with happy memories. Come make some of
your own.
