Stay in comfort surrounded by nature. Elk Branch Lodge is very
secluded and remote yet it's an easy drive from the DC-Baltimore
Metro Area. This five-bedroom/three-bath Bavarian style house is
situated in the historic Shenandoah Valley on 120 acres of wooded
and pastoral land, surrounded by thousands of acres of public forest.
Bring your hiking shoes, mountain bike, canoe, fishing rod, and
binoculars. We have a well marked trail system for horseback
riding, mountain biking and hiking. The adjacent public land also
offers miles of public hiking trails and a 205 acre fishing lake.
The lake is also good for canoeing and kayaking. There is an
abundance of wildlife and the birdwatching is excellent. Box stalls
and pasture are available for anyone wanting to vacation with their
horses.
Guests can spend the day visiting Civil War sites, exploring the
Washington Heritage Trail, antiquing, or golfing at the many
excellent local courses.
If you are just looking for a place to reflect and read, we
specialize in peace and quiet. The evenings feature beautiful
sunsets, a whip-poor-will serenade and a relaxing soak in the hot
tub followed by quiet reflexion in front of a crackling fire. The
lodge is also a great place for that romantic getaway.
Elk Branch Lodge is a great venue for that small company picnic,
church retreats or sisters weekends.
