Vacation Rental Description

Serenity and adventure both await you at this charming whimsical cottage nestled on a half acre of 
beautiful rainforest.  Lazy Lehua Cottage is ideal for quiet or adventurous couples, small families, 
honeymooners, artists, poets, musicians, authors.  If it's serenity you need, or adventure you 
crave, Lazy Lehua Cottage is the perfect place.  The native birds will serenade you while you drink 
your early morning tea or coffee.  Float suspended in a hammock chair on one of the 3 lanai's while 
gazing out to the abundant rainforest that hosts gigantic Hapu'u ferns, magnificent Lehua flowering 
Ohia trees, and aromatic ginger.  Lazy Lehua Cottage is located 1 mile from Volcano Village where 
restaurants, galleries, a winery, golf course can all be found.  World Famous Hawaii Volcano 
National Park is 2 miles away, a must for your trip to the Big Island.   

The Big Island offers many unforgettable experiences. In Hawaii Volcano National Park, you can walk 
through a giant lava tube, hike through unforgettable rainforests, steaming craters, or see what 
Pu'u O'o is creating today; one of the only place's in the world you will experience new land being 
created.  Check out Punalu’u beach, where sea turtles rest and lay their eggs in the beautiful black 
sand, a 30 minute drive.  Visit old historic town Hilo, only 30 minutes away.  Walk through the 
beautiful Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, or to hike to the many waterfalls.   If your travels 
take you to the South East part of the Big Island to walk on newly made land near Kaimu; check out 
the banana splits at Verna’s Café; where the road ends in Kaimu on hwy 137.  A short jog down hwy 
137, snorkel and soak in the naturally heated Kapoho tide pools, breathe the most pristine air in 
the world, check out Champagne Pond, another 10 miles east of Kalapana, a beautiful and scenic 
drive. 

Awaiting you when you get back to the Lazy Lehua Cottage, your home away from home, is a serene 
cottage for you to catch your breath and rejuvenate.  Soak your sore muscles in our 2 person master 
bedroom jetted tub, over looking the beautiful rainforest just outside your window.  Exactly what 
you need after your day of exploration on the Big Island.  You'll be rejuvenated and ready for more 
adventures.  

Lazy Lehua Cottage was lovingly built between 2003- 2004.  The idea for Lazy Lehua Cottage was to 
make it a special place for guests to stay, dream, and regroup. Focus was on putting as much 
character, charm and soul in to it, and making it a whimsical, beautiful place for everyone to 
enjoy.  Trees were hand cut and property cleared only enough to put the Lazy Lehua Cottage in its 
perfect place.  The beautiful Ohia trees that unfortunately had to be cut down were used for the 
posts on the lanais giving it, its whimsical cottage look that blends in well with the forest.  In 
keeping in the spirit of whimsical, some of the furniture throughout the cottage was hand crafted; 
coffee table, bar top, headboard on bed, using all local, exotic, and native woods.  We know you'll 
feel the magical spirit of the house when you stay here.  Enjoy - Lazy Lehua Cottage.

Activities and Attractions

Hiking, Lava flow, and Steam vent viewing at Volcanoes National Park, will only be one of the many 
highlights of your trip. Mountain biking, hiking, golf, bird watching, kayaking, shopping,
restaurants, galleries, wine tasting at Volcano Winery, the best Sunday farmers market on the 
island, and live theater (seasonal)...all within just 2 miles of our cottage!  Surfing, swimming, 
diving/snorkeling, turtle watching, are all within a 30 minute drive.

Vacation Rental Rates

$129 per night (3+ nights) double occupancy (ALL TAXES INCLUDED)
$159 per night (2 nights) double occupancy (ALL TAXES INCLUDED) 
$10 pp/per nt. for extra guest.  Maximum Occupancy = 4 guests
$60 cleaning fee (1-2 guests)
$80 cleaning fee (3-4 guests)

We accept credit cards through Paypal, or personal checks. Checks must clear before dates can be 
reserved.
 
50% deposit is required upon booking.  
50% balance is due 30 days prior to arrival date.
 
CANCELLATION POLICY
*Cancellations made 60 days or more prior to arrival date will be refunded in full
  
*Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to arrival date will result in forfeiting the 50% 
deposit -OR- If re-rented for same dates, a full refund, OR a prorated refund for those dates that 
are re-rented.

*Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your arrival date will result in forfeiting 100%, 
entire payment -OR-If re-rented for same dates, a full refund, OR a prorated refund for those dates 
that are re-rented.
