Colonial Williamsburg is about 10 miles southeast of the house. The Pottery Factory, the Prime Outlets, and the Williamsburg Outlet Mall are all within 8 miles as you head into Williamsburg. Numerous restaurants are also found along the same stretch of Route 60. A large, modern Farm Fresh supermarket is located 5 miles from the house.
A county park and marina with boat/motor, canoe, and kayak rentals is within a half mile of the house. Or walk right out the door and fish from the banks of the lake. A post office and convenience store are 2.5 miles away.
