Vacation Rental Description

We've made it through Hurricane Ike and we are grateful.  We will begin taking reservations for  
2009.  Please call us for your holiday plans.  We invite you to experience Casa di Mare (House by  
the Sea), a beautiful, custom-built bay home newly built in 2005, located on the  
West Bay of Galveston Island.  This well-loved, family home is a  
premium value because of its many amenities which include beautiful  
sunsets, a private fishing pier, boat ramp, outside shower, large  
breezy patio under the house, three large porches and huge sundeck.   
Also for those guests who enjoy bird watching, our property is  
located across the street from the Eight Mile Road Wetlands, a  
federally protected preserve which features many of our native birds  
in their natural habitat.  Cranes, pelicans, and beautiful  
flamingoes can be seen in the early morning from our porch.  The  
views are beautiful on all sides of the house, especially at sunset,  
and the beautiful Galveston Causeway can be seen lighting up the  
night sky like fireworks between Houston and Galveston.  We are  
secluded but close to the Strand, West Beach, the Seawall, Moody  
Gardens, Kemah, the Municipal Golf Course, Walmart, and the brand  
new Schlitterbahn Water Park. 
 
We can accomodate family reunions, birthday parties, company  
parties, corporate retreats and small weddings.  Getting married at  
sunset on the large deck is very romantic and we have some very nice  
pictures of one of our weddings.  We have the ability to supply  
moonwalks, snowcone machines, tables, chairs, and margarita

Vacation Rental Amenities

The inside of the home is equally impressive.  We have decided to  
decorate with an Italian flair.  The large island kitchen features  
granite counters, stainless steel appliances, which include three  
ovens, microwave, stove, side-by-side refrigerator, and large  
capacity dishwasher.  Eight barstools can sit around the large  
island and four more may sit at the kitchen table.  The two-story  
family room has a large 52 inch screen TV, DVD player, stereo, and  
wood-burning fireplace.  There are four equal sized bedrooms, most  
having a double bed and a twin bed.  Upstairs is a loft with four  
double beds for a total of eight double beds, and three twin beds.   
We can comfortably sleep 20 people.  Two full baths, one upstairs  
and one downstairs, and a 1/2 bath/utility room (downstairs) is well  
equipped with a front-loading large capacity washer and dryer.   
Every room has a ceiling fan.  Maid service and laundry service are  
both available for an additional charge.  There is no smoking in our  
home.

Activities and Attractions

Casa di Mare is furnished with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, coffee  
maker, toaster, everything you need to serve great meals.  Two large  
barbeque pits are ready to be fired up.  There are also a large  
number of restaurants for those days when there are better things to  
do than cook...like biking, horseback riding, fishing, crabbing,  
water-skiing, wave-running, and boating.  Come be part of our

Winter Season - Nov. 5, 2008 - Dec.31, 2008 -- $2100/week, 
$950/weekend 
 
Low Season - Jan. 1, 2009 - Feb. 28, 2009 -- $1700/week, $950/weekend 
 
Mid Season - March 1, 2009 - May 22, 2009 -- $2500/week,  
$1200/weekend 
 
Peak Season - May 23, 2009 - Sept. 6, 2009  
-- $3000/week, $1600/weekend 
 
Fall Season - Sept. 7, 2009 - Oct. 31, 2009 -- $2500/week,  
$1200/weekend 
 
  
 
 
Holiday Rates -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve will  
have a 30% surcharge over Winter Season Rates.  Memorial Day, July  
4th, and Labor Day will have a 10% surcharge over Peak Season rates. 
 
If you book at least six months in advance, you can pay in monthly  
installments, with the last payment due 30 days before arrival.
