Vacation Rental Description

Our Del Mar unit is direct oceanfront, right on the beach. It is a corner unit facing east-
southeast, so the sunrises and moonrises are absolutely spectacular. Go to sleep to sounds of the 
sea and breathe fresh ocean air.

Del Mar is on "Orchid Island", one of the string of barrier islands running up and down Florida's 
Atlantic coast, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the inland waterway (or the "Intracoastal 
Waterway", or the "ICW") on the other. In our area, where it is open and broad, the waterway is also 
known as the "Indian River Lagoon". In addition to providing excellent Tarpon, Snook and Bass 
fishing among the mangroves, the Lagoon separates our barrier island communities from the Vero Beach 
mainland.

Del Mar is a welcoming community that consists of just over two-hundred residences in nine low-rise 
buildings on the sweeping green-grass grounds of the former oceanside Tuerk (Tropicana) estate. Only 
two of these nine buildings are directly on the oceanfront, and the Clubhouse and ours are two of 
them. In fact, our first-floor Florida Room is only about 30 or 40 feet from the beach.

Grass and Palm trees; beautiful sunrises; going to sleep to the lullaby of gently breaking ocean 
waves; the fresh smell of salt air; the beautiful, broad Atlantic Ocean; and a lovely, lonely sandy 
beach that stretches for miles in both directions. This is what Vero Beach is all about. This 
is "Where the Tropics begin", the heart of Florida's famous "Treasure Coast".

The "Treasure Coast" derives its name from the wreck on our shores in 1715 of an entire Spanish 
treasure fleet, en route from Cuba to Spain. Beachcombers and treasure hunters still find the 
occasional gold doubloon in the soft sands of our barrier island beaches.

But we are not on some remote island. We are centrally located on the east coast of Florida, and we 
are easy to reach by airplane or motor vehicle. We only seem far away, because we still have a small-
town charm, and strangers here will greet you with a pleasant smile and a sincere hello.

We are within easy driving distance of major Airports: Palm Beach (PBI), Orlando (MCO) and Melbourne 
(MLB).  Miami International (MIA) is a three-hour drive. Private aircraft may use our very own Vero 
Beach Airport, which was built early in World War II as a US Navy dive-bomber training facility.

For a small extra charge ($150 - $250), we will arrange to have our long-distance travelers met and 
professionally chauffeured here from Miami International (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm 
Beach (PBI), Orlando (MCO) or Melbourne (MLB) Airports. You will, however, want to have your own car 
or a rental vehicle while you are with us here in Vero Beach.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The Del Mar Association maintains a large, heated oceanside swimming pool and several oceanside 
Shuffleboard Courts, as well as a comfortable beachside Clubhouse with a lending Library and reading 
and sitting rooms with views of the ocean. 

Our 1,100 sq ft unit itself has its own seaside Florida Room overlooking the Beach and the Atlantic 
Ocean, and both Bedrooms look out over the sea. There is everything here you should need, including 
ample and brand-new furniture, linens, Kitchen appliances and utensils, Radios, and a Cable TV with 
a DVD player. If you require additional TV's, we will provide them.

The two Bedrooms, one with Twins, the other with a Queen, sleep four. We have provided a double-bed-
sized pull-out couch in the Living Room for overflow. With a little notice and a $200 charge, we can 
change the Twins to a Queen, or ($250) to a King-size bed.

Activities and Attractions

Our Vero Beach locale is well-known for fabulous Fishing (offshore, inshore, ocean, lagoon and 
freshwater), for Surfing at the Sebastian Inlet, and for Kayaking, Nature Walks, professional 
Theater, professional and amateur Recitals and Concerts, our local Museums and our proximity to such 
world-famous attractions as Disney World and the other Orlando facilities, which are all only 1 hour 
and 45 minutes away.

We are relatively close to Cape Kennedy and Cape Canaveral, and to Daytona and Sebring, and to 
Gulfstream Park and Hialeah. There is even the Hard Rock Casino not far away; and while we have 
excellent shopping on our own Ocean Drive, we are also convenient to Palm Beach's malls and its 
renowned Worth Avenue.

Our own Association and its residents initiate and support many planned and spontaneous social 
activities and outings.

Boat rentals and Charter Fishing facilities are within a mile of Del Mar; and Fine Dining and world-
class Golf and Tennis are nearby in both public and private, and semi-private, facilities.

We are a mere 10-minute drive to Holman Stadium, the Dodgers' Spring Training and minor league 
facilities. You can really watch big league teams play professional baseball right here in Vero 
Beach!

The Del Mar Association also sponsors movies some evenings in the Clubhouse. They also put on the 
occasional Bingo night.

Please tell us your special interests, and we'll tell you whether our area can meet them. We want 
you to be happy here, and we want you to return year after year.

Vacation Rental Rates

The Del Mar Condominium Association requires a THREE-MONTH MINIMUM RENTAL period. Our monthly rates 
are: $3,300 in Winter (Jan, Feb, Mar); $3,000 in late Fall and Spring (Nov, Dec, Apr, May); and 
$2,200 in Summer and Autumn (Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct). Annual lease (no sublets) is $2,300/month. 

Included in rent is parking, utilities (Cable TV, local phone, A/C, electric, water), and all Del 
Mar Association activities and facilities. Laundry facilities are within 50 feet.

Extras: We deduct actual long-distance telephone charges at actual usage amounts from the $1,250 
Security Deposit that is payable upon signing. 

Full rental payment (seasonal), plus 11% FL and local tax, is due 30 days prior to occupancy.

Our Association requires that at least one member of your group be 55-years or older. PLEASE APPLY 
EARLY, as all tenant applications must go before our Del Mar Association board for lease 
approval.

Ours is a NO SMOKING unit, and the Del Mar Association forbids pets (sorry).
