Clean house on a great beach San Bruno beach (KM 24 from progresso).
Large windows looking out at ocean, palm trees.
Easier to get to than Cancun. Fly directly into Merida via
Continental (MID airport code), rent a car, stop at Costco, Sams
Club, or Walmart for groceries, and be at the beach in 35 minutes.
Merida is cheap to fly into, a very clean and modern airport, and
best of all never crowded. Cancun is a 3 hour drive.
A wonderful getaway. Peaceful quite retreat away from the crowds. We
love this beach house because you are not right next to other
houses. The neighbors are about two blocks away on either side.
The caretaker can assist with anything you need.  He can arrange fishing trips and even arrange a home made MEXICAN meal.

Kitchen: Spacious Kitchen, equipped with: dishes, cookware,
silverware and blender. Gas stove, microwave, large fridge and icebox. Island seating  with Mexican tile and stools.

Bedrooms:
First floor bedroom and full bathroom. Master bedroom and two more
bedrooms upstairs, all with seperate full bathrooms. Balcony, window
treatments, linens, pillows. 1 KING bed in master bedroom. QUEEN bed in other bedroom, 3rd  room with QUEEN or two twins and fourth room with individual bed.  Call if you need a different bed size and we may be able to locate one in time for your trip.

Living Room: Two couches and loveseat. Coffee table, large TV (no
cable gets 5 Meridian channels), DVD player. Satelite Tv and Internet upon request. Windows to beach.

Dining Room: Mexican dining table with seating for 6-8.

Porch: Large covered porch looking out at the sea.

Seashelling, swimming, sunbathing, snorkelling, exotic bird-
watching, sailing, windsurfing, golfing (18 hole) and kite sailing.
Close to world famous ruins and a short 35-40 minute drive to

provisions and supplies is on the main road as you head back to

Beautiful home in great location for those who want to get away from it all. Home exceeded our expectations. The property was clean, and Walter was very attentive to our care and safety. One problem is we have not received our security deposit back. Owner was contacted 4 weeks after we returned home and they said check was placed in the mail. A after a 3 week wait I contacted owner and told them we still had not received the check and suggested they place a stop payment on the check and mail another one. They replied they would do that and mail another check that day. Now after another 3 week wait we still have not received the check.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers

Owners response: New renters you can rest asure this is not a normal pratice.

100% correct - unfortunatley this was a really bad experience - we have for years placed outgoing mail in our mail box and our mailman takes it and mails it - ends up the envelope with the damage check was stolen from our mailbox and I learned about bleaching....wow....horrible experience. Our bank account was depleted by about 50%. The the funds left were frozen - - finally after a few weeks and alot of paperwork we now have a new account with a few bucks less.

Once new account was set up there was a wire transfer done for immediate availability. The cleaning fee in contract was not charged as a gesture of goodwill -lets say interst for thier delayed refund.

We are glad the guests enjoyed the property and hope to host them in a future visit.


Due to the delay I did not subtract the cleaning charge in contract -
think of it as interest.
Any how - I truly apologize for this delay. New renters you can rest asure this is not a normal pratice.

This is a great place to stay. We travel frequently and usually are ready to go home in a weeks time but after spending a month at Maya House we did not want to leave. It had become home. Everything you need to be comfy is there.

Inexpensive - dining out, attractions etc. The shoreline is endless beautiful in the morning - so many birds Pelicans ect. to watch. Fisherman far away bringing in fish with the nets. Early evening again endless shoreline with beautiful sunset and differnt wildlife to observe and lets not forget the sunny inviting rest of the day. We will return very soon and this is where we will stay, it is now home for us in Mexico.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

We just wanted to let you both know how much we enjoyed our stay at Maya House, and wanted to share this on your website for future guests. We had booked a house in Uaymitun that was not what was advertised. Upon checking the Maya House calendar and seeing availability we contacted the owners. They were great and easy to work with. They speak and write perfect English which makes it communication also very easy. We went to see the house and fell in love with it.

It is Immaculate!! – Just like the web says - sparkling and well situated right on the beach.

The owners made our transaction very easy and everything was as explained and more. It really saved our vacation. Not only was it sparkling clean but a lovely home. We spent every morning having coffee watching the day unfold … flocks of pelicans, Flamingos, Sandpipers, Horseshoe Crab, and whatever else the tide brought in while the children played in the white sand. This house has new furniture and all the basics you need for a stay away from home. We had SKY TV, arranged a fishing trip and the caretakers even made us a traditional home meal. It was more than we could expect! We enjoyed it so much we ended up staying some extra nights.
