"Casa Sammie"- Private Oceanfront Bungalow with Private Pool in Jaco

This is a very central, but private, location in the small fishing village of Tarcoles, only a 1¼ hour drive from the San José airport. It's an oceanfront property with a beautiful view of the Pacific and you are able to watch magnificent sunsets from the large covered front porch or from our beautiful raised gazebo. Scarlet macaws fly over morning and evening going to and from their feeding grounds and often spend time throughout the day in the trees on and around the property. Two of them can be seen in the photos, having breakfast in the almond trees at the front of the house.
We also have a large covered patio at the back, great for watching the sunrise with your 1st morning coffee, and have recently added a bodega, attached to the house, with an additional roomy bedroom and bathroom, that sleeps 2 more people. It is available if you have 5 persons or more in your group for an additional charge. Very nice & private.
You can walk on the beach for miles, sometimes without seeing another soul! Less than a 10 minute drive to the north is the Tarcoles River where you often see huge crocodiles basking in the sun.
Buy fresh fish for your supper, right off the boats, from the Cooperativa only a two minute walk down the road or, if you prefer, you can go to one of the many restaurants within a few minutes drive. For all your grocery needs there is a new, up-to-date grocery store within a 10 min. drive south of the house. Jaco, 20 min. south, also boasts several modern grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, as well as many clothing and souvenir shops.
We are five minutes from Carara Biological Reserve where you are able to hike for hours and view the nesting boxes of the macaws. You will also see many other varieties of birds and animals. We are only 20 minutes north of Jaco, a major surfing area, and an easy one hour and 45 minute drive north of the beautiful Manuel Antonio Park where you can see white-faced and spider monkeys swinging through the trees, or perhaps a sloth, moving in slow motion through the branches.

As an added bonus, our English speaking manager, Patri, is available to help you out, if required, with car rentals, tours (to Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest, zip lines or maybe deep-sea fishing), or anything else that you may need. She will even stock the fridge & cupboards before your arrival! Don't like to cook while on vacation? There are several local señoras who will come and cook in your home, or cook what you want in their home and bring it to you! Just ask our manager to make the arrangements.

Gino is a friend and neighbour who will take you - fishing for a day; to beautiful white sand beaches for a swim; snorkelling, where you will see an amazing assortment of tropical fish; jigging for fish; touring the coastline; diving for lobster, which he will cook for you, along with the fish that you've caught, on a grill at a private beach; to visit a waterfall; or, he will put together a tour including all or any of the above. His wife, Maria, is an excellent cook who will deliver your supper right to the house or come in and cook for you. We highly recommend them. You'll have a true Costa Rican experience!
